“I don’t know how to do anything without you,” Scarlett said.

“Of course you do.”

“No, I don’t. It’s always been the two of us. What am I going to do without you?”

“It’s you and Axel, Scar. The two of you. And you’re going to be just fine without me.”

Scarlett shook her head. “Never. You’re my best friend.”

“You’re my best friend!”

We both started sobbing harder.

“Neither of you beautiful criers know anything!” Justin shrieked. “Everything is ruined!”

I sniffed. “Justin, I’m sorry.”

He sighed. “Proms. They’re the only thing with more tears than weddings.” He blotted my face and slowly smiled. “So you’re traveling the world with a Greek God? Tell me everything.”

I laughed.

Scarlett reached over and squeezed my arm. “I was being selfish asking you to stay. I was worried about you getting hurt. But I was worried about being without you too, you know?”

I nodded. “I know. But I’m going to visit you all the time. Actually, we might need to leave Larry with someone...”

Scarlett shuddered. “My love only goes so deep,” she said. “I’m not taking care of your demon cat while you’re gone. I don’t think they even allow pets in dorms. Oh God, I’m going to be roomed with some weirdo, aren’t I?”

“It’s going to be fine,” I said. “Even if your roommate is weird, you can just spend all your time at Axel and Jacob’s.”

She slowly nodded. “Right.” She pressed her lips together. “This really sucks, but I’m also so so happy for you.”

I laughed. “Thank you.” I completely got it. I was going to miss her.

“So no one else knows?” she asked.

I shook my head.

“Just us three besties,” Justin said.

I smiled. “I was going to tell everyone else tonight.”

“Your mom is going to freak out,” Scarlett said.

“I know. But my dad will calm her down.”

“In the bedroom?” Justin asked. “I’ve always wanted to see a Hunter man in action in the bedroom.” He sighed. “It would be the highlight of my young life.”

Okay then.

“And what about Hunter Tech?” Scarlett asked.

It had been a dream of mine to work for the family business. I was obsessed with the different tech that Hunter Tech came out with. Testing out prototypes was my favorite. I wasn’t really sure how skipping out on college worked with that. But I’d figure it out. And maybe my dreams would change again. If I was lucky. Because I’m not sure Adonis wanted to sit still ever. “RJ and Liam will do a better job than me at running the company one day. I’m not good enough at coding anyway.”

“Only because you didn’t try.”

I shrugged.

“And there are plenty of different things to do than coding. Your dad doesn’t do coding. He’s involved in the ideas for new inventions.”
