“I think she kind of likes it. Don’t you, Pussy?” He reached around and petted the top of Larry’s head.
Larry purred.
I laughed and set her down. I turned to look up at Adonis. It hurt my heart thinking of him here alone. But he wouldn’t be alone now. “I think maybe you secretly kind of like Larry.”
“Don’t be jealous, Aphrodite. You’re still my favorite pussy.” He leaned forward and kissed me. And then he picked me up and carried me to his bed.
I laughed as he tossed me down on top of the comforter.
He pulled off one of my shoes and then the next. But he paused when he grabbed the top of my sock. “Is Pussy staring at us right now? I feel like she’s staring.”
“Just ignore her.”
“I can’t ignore her. I can feel her beady little eyes on me.”
“You mean her beautiful green eyes that she gets from her daddy.”
“Call me daddy one more time,” Adonis said as he climbed over me. But then he stopped. “Nope. Can’t do it. Not while she’s watching.” He got off the bed, picked Larry up, put her in the hall, and closed the door. “Now where we were?”
I laughed when Larry started scratching on the door.
“I see the fiery thing now,” Adonis said with a sigh.
“Ignore her.” I pushed myself up and pulled off my shirt.
Adonis smiled. “That I can do.” He leaned over me, capturing my lips in a searing kiss.
I couldn’t really explain it, but this kiss felt bigger than usual. More monumental. I thought about what he said about putting lots of babies in me. Had he really meant that? Because I could picture that too. Filling a house with little hims.
Owning a pet together may have been a big step, but it had felt natural. Everything with Adonis felt natural.
I knew he didn’t really like cats. But he understood my reasoning. And he was keeping Larry for me. And that meant a lot to me.
I grabbed the front of his t-shirt, pulling him closer. I was never letting go of this boy.
And now that I’d gotten Adonis a housemate so he wouldn’t be lonely, I could focus on my bigger mission. Getting Adonis’ father to wake up and come to his son’s games. As soon as Adonis was done ravishing my body, it was about time I wrote Mr. Ariti a strongly worded letter.
Chapter 38 – My Dove
Sunday – 3 Weeks Later
The gym was packed. It was hard to try to find anyone in this crowd. But I had a bad feeling in my stomach.
Adonis had gotten Empire High to their first championship game in forever. And his father wasn’t here to see it.
And I was pissed.
I’d left him letter after letter on his desk. And each time I left one, the previous one was gone. So either Adonis was finding them and throwing them out without confronting me. Or his maid was. Or...Mr. Ariti was getting them and ignoring me. Which was most likely what was happening. So yeah, I was pissed.
The letters had gotten increasingly more strongly worded. I’d said things I probably shouldn’t have. About how Adonis needed him. How he deserved better.
Maybe I’d gone too far. But damn it, I just wanted his father to show up to one of his games. Adonis acted like he didn’t care. Just like he acted like he didn’t care that his mother abandoned him. But I knew he did.
Adonis wouldn’t be disappointed because he didn’t know that I’d told his father about the game. But I was disappointed enough for the both of us.
Screw his dad. Seriously...screw him.
I already knew I was lucky to have the parents I did. But Mr. Ariti being a grade A dick definitely reinforced it.
