RJ ran over to me. “What the hell is going on?”

“Aphrodite!” Adonis said from behind me.

I cringed.

RJ’s face turned to stone. “Did he put his hands on you?”

“RJ...”

“I warned you,” Jacob said to Adonis.

But before he could make a move, RJ stepped around me and punched Adonis hard across the jaw.

Chapter 32 – That’s Very Disrespectful To Do

Friday

Adonis spit out some blood. “That was a good hit, little bro.”

I don’t think I’d ever seen RJ look more furious. He lunged at Adonis, but Adonis hopped up a few steps to get out of the way.

“Aphrodite...” Adonis said as he held out his arm to try and keep RJ at a distance. “Talk to me. I really don’t want to hit your little brother.”

“Try it, asshole,” RJ said and grabbed the front of Adonis’ shirt. He slammed Adonis’ back against the wall.

“Aphrodite,” Adonis said, staring at me over RJ’s shoulder. “I don’t know what’s going on. Talk to me before I do something I’ll regret.”

“No one told me we were beating up Adonis,” Liam said as he joined us. “Sweet.” He cracked his neck to the side.

“Stop it,” Scarlett said and grabbed Liam’s arm. “Soph. Tell us what happened.”

I opened my mouth and closed it again.

RJ shoved his arm up against Adonis’ neck. “What did you do to my sister?”

“Do you really want me to answer that?” Adonis asked.

“Yes, asshole.”

A crowd was forming behind us. I didn’t want everyone to hear about this. I wrapped my arms around myself.

“I don’t think you do, man,” Adonis said.

“Start talking. Now.”

Adonis glanced at the crowd and then his green eyes met mine. “I did everything she asked,” he said, being perfectly vague. “I don’t know what happened. Everything was fine and then she lost it.”

I clenched my jaw.

“Are you calling my sister crazy?”

“No,” Adonis said. “I did something that upset her and I have no idea what because she won’t fucking talk to me.” He shoved RJ off of him. “And I’m not talking about this in front of a crowd of people. This is between me and your sister. Aphrodite. Let’s go outside and...”

“Not a chance in hell,” Jacob said. “Come on, Soph, we’re leaving.”

I was frozen in place. Adonis looked sorry. But was he actually? Or was he just trying not to get the shit beat out of him?

Jacob didn’t give me a chance to decide. He grabbed my hand and started pulling me out of the foyer. He pushed open the front doors and a blast of cold air hit my face. We ran down the front steps.
