Daddy left me alone in the cage.

The locked cage.

Nowhere to get out.

I’m going to die here.

My lungs burn as they beg for air, but I can’t do anything as they seize, refusing to let me.

This is how I’m going to die. Locked up in a cage, all alone. My worst fear.

“Little Pet!” Daddy yells as black dots appear in my vision.

There’s a commotion, and before I know it, strong hands pick me up and hold me against a hard chest.

“Shh, you’re okay. Just take a deep breath for me. Come on, Little Pet. You’re okay. Fills those lungs for me. Be a good girl and take a small breath,” Daddy encourages me, but I’m too far gone.

My eyes roll back, my body going limp, as everything around me goes black.

“Come on, Little Pet. You’re okay,” Daddy whispers as I slowly start to wake up.

What happened?

“I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere,” he continues. “Yamal is standing right next to us. He’s going to ask you a couple of questions. Do you think you can answer them?”

I look between Daddy and Yamal, both of them looking at me with so much concern.

“Little Pet, how are you feeling?” Daddy asks.

“O-okay?” I whisper.

My grip tightens around Daddy’s shirt; I don’t like how they are looking at me.

“Wh-what happened?” I ask.

“Do you not remember anything?” Yamal asks.

“Is that normal, Yamal?” Daddy asks at the same time.

“I passed out,” I mumble, and both of their attention turns to me. “I passed out.”

My eyes go wide when I realize it’s because I thought Daddy had left me, but he came back for me.

“You’re okay,” Daddy coos. “Everything is going to be okay.”

“How are you feeling right now?” Yamal asks.

I shrug. “Okay? Sluggish and cold. But at the same time, jittery.”

“That’s normal. You’ll need to drink something and stay close to your Daddy to get warm again. Eventually your body will calm down, and you’ll feel better,” Yamal explains. “What made you pass out?”

“I don’t know,” I whisper, lying.

I bury my face in Daddy’s chest, not wanting to talk about it any longer. What if Daddy finds out and gets rid of me? What if he doesn’t want a girl who is clingy and needs to be taken care of so much?

No.

I can’t let him know, in case he doesn’t want to get rid of me for that. I’ll just have to try my hardest to show that I’m okay when he leaves and develop some type of coping mechanism.
