He swallows hard and licks his lips. “I’m here to see Amanda.”
“Amanda?” I jerk back and scan his face for a sign of deceit. “What do you want with her?”
His body quivers, and I twist the blade for encouragement.
“We sometimes do coke together,” he chokes out.
Jesus fucking Christ, she does drugs while she’s meant to be watching Immie?
I don’t know who I’m more furious at, this shithead in my kitchen, or her for allowing this scumbag access to my property.
“Have you been here before?” My gaze pierces his.
“Yes. The girl found us in the living room.” I still at the reference to Immie finding them. Something she’s kept quiet. Why the fuck does that irritate me so much? “So, I left straight away.”
“But you came back.”
“I was hoping to catch up with Amanda.”
“You wanted drugs,” I snipe back, and loosen my grip on his hair. “Drugs and easy pussy.”
The dumbass thinks my anger is subsiding, but far from it. Nobody comes into my home and threatens the one I love.
“I guess.” He smirks.
I release the hold on his hair, but instead of dropping my knife, I surge it into the side of his neck, and blood sprays, covering the kitchen in his demise.
He chokes, gargling, and his wide eyes search mine before I step back and allow his body to slump to the tiled floor with a thud.
That’s going to be a bitch to clean up.
I watch the life drain from his eyes, then dig my phone out of my pocket and call my brother.
“What?” His annoyed tone makes me chuckle.
“Hello to you too, Miko.”
“What do you want?”
“I need a cleanup in my kitchen.”
“Who?”
“Some punk Amanda has been screwing turned up for a booty call.”
“Since when do you care about who she fucks?”
“He was scaring Immie.”
“Understood.”
I can’t help but wonder how much he understands. Can he possibly understand the enormity of my need to protect her?
“I’ll have it done in the next half hour.”
“Change all the codes too.”
“Of course. Perhaps speak with your wife about who she’s giving those codes out to.”
