Atom: Hounds of the Reaper

Then again, the only one who ever saw me was Atom, and he was out of town.

Till now.

The only hope I have is that he’s too busy with the party to notice I’m gone.

Chapter 14 - Atom

“Yo, Domino, you seen Natalie?” I call out as I round the clubhouse. The party’s pretty much over now after that little show.

I feel bad for the brothers and their women who have to explain that shit to the kids. The only saving grace is that you didn’t see any T&A, really. Nothing was in focus. But there was a lot of blood.

And so far, no one can tell how the video was added onto the slideshow. Casper swears it wasn’t there and all he did was send it to Flint to upload it. Flint says he only put the file he got up. Either someone came in and fucked with our shit yet again, or it was corrupted in the upload. As for the emails that Casper sent to Flint? Somehow, they were all deleted on everyone’s drive. Whoever decided to fuck up this engagement party did a pretty good job of it.

I’m just not sure if it was to fuck with Jack or Billy… or both. Something went down between them. Billy came back to the party without her sister in tow, only a consoling fiancée with her. That video shared far more than just what the brothers saw from the way Billy is acting. Wonder if it has something to do with Billy’s kid she lost.

It’s fucked up, and another time, I might be down for figuring it out. Just after I find a certain person who seems to have gone missing from my radar. Maybe I got rusty while I was away. I used to know where she was at all times. I guess not having to look for her constantly did more damage than good.

“Nah. Sorry, man,” Domino replies as he takes the keys Walker tosses him for the bike we keep for anyone who’s in town without wheels or needs a spare.

“Where you off to?” I ask as I look at the clubhouse door and think that perhaps Nat already went inside and I just didn’t see her go.

“Going to hang with my girl. She’s got a look-see on a few fighters tonight.”

Menace has been doing more look-sees lately for Tommy Leone. I think the guy wants to build an empire for himself or some shit. Not too bad of an idea. Get all the women who can kick your ass on your payroll, preventing any of them from actually kicking your ass, I guess.

“You let her go alone?” I don’t know any Hound who lets their girl out on their own unless a prospect is with them. And I just did a head count. All the prospects are in-house.

He laughs as he gets on the loaner bike. “You don’t know Menace. There’s no ‘letting’ her do shit. She can handle herself, trust me. Want to come?” he asks as he looks over at me.

I’m already moving to my bike. “Where to?”

“Warehouse downtown is the last location I got.”

“Location? That sweet talk from your old lady to you?” I turn on my baby and enjoy the purr between my legs, ignoring the small ache from my ribs.

“Nah. She sent me the address before she headed out about an hour ago. Plus, I’ve got a tracker on her that confirms her location.”

“Really?” I shout over the sound of both our bikes now that he’s started his.

Domino nods as he backs out. “Yeah. Bulldog hooked me up with his guy who makes trackers for Princess’s jewelry.”

“Aren’t you afraid she’ll take it off?” I back up as well and pull alongside him as we wait for the gate to open. We had it shut about thirty minutes ago when most of the people left.

“Nah. I put it in her belly ring when she got it pierced a few months back. She only takes it out when she fights, and tonight is just a look-see. Plus, when she fights, I’m with her the entire time. My woman’s hot when she gives someone else a beatdown.”

“Menace know?”

He looks at me, confused.

I shake my head. “Not about you being turned on by her pulling some chick’s braids, but about the tracker.”

“Fuck no. I’m not stupid,” Domino says before riding off, my laughter trailing us as I keep pace with him.

“This is nuts,” I say as a second person bumps into me, and I push them off with enough force to bounce off another group. The place is equivalent to a mosh pit, and no one seems to care but me.

“Yeah. If this was Menace’s normal scene, I wouldn’t let her fight here.”

I look at Domino with a smirk, expecting him to follow it up with a joke about how his girl would have his nuts if he tried to pull that shit, but only see his eyes watching anything and everything that moves. The man before me isn’t a former brother of the mother chapter but the president of the Michigan chapter. A chapter that was down in the dumps for years, but it’s making a name for itself now with the change in leadership.
