Buck & Mari

She didn’t regret the night before, or what had happened that morning just before dawn.

It was all good.

Better than good.

Just holding his pillow, smelling the scent of his skin, she was tempted to roll over and bury her face in it, maybe even replay a few of the better moments.

“I leave you alone for a few minutes and you’ve found someone new.”

Mari froze in shock.

Not only was Heath still there, but he’d caught her a second before making a fool of herself with a pillow.

“I’ll forgive you this once,” Heath sighed and she turned her head to look at him under the edge of the pillow. “Come on out to the kitchen. I’m making some breakfast. I hope…”

She saw him lean against the frame of the door and damn it, he looked good enough to eat.

“What’s going on in your head?”

Mari’s eyes widened and she covered her face with the pillow. She shook her head as she answered him. “Maybe you… maybe you could put a shirt on?”

When Heath didn’t answer her, she turned her head again and looked at the doorway.

It treated her to a show she’d remember for quite some time.

Heath crossed over to the bed and pulled the pillow out of her hands. He tossed it onto the empty side of the bed.

Before she could gather her wits together, he put a knee on the bed and leaned over her.

She breathed him in and spoke before thinking it through.

“You smell so much better than the pillow.”

His smile turned her on.

Yes, his smile.

It didn’t hurt that she felt his hand move along the outside of her thigh.

That made her burn even more.

“I’m glad you like it, Mari. How about you take another taste and see how you like that, too.”

Before she could manage another word or even a breath, he closed the distance between them and brushed his lips over hers.

She hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should duck into the bathroom and brush her teeth, but he did it again and his chest brushed across hers.

The friction of his lips and body combined did more than turn her on, her arousal had been simmering since she’d smelled him on the pillow.

The sensations of his skin against hers revved it up.

Her engine, for lack of a better word… was purring.

Purring.

She smiled against his lips and moved her hands over his chest.

The crisp hairs on his chest tickled her palms and reminded her of the way his thighs felt against her own when he’d thrust into her over and over.
