“Yeah,” he says back, his voice strained. “Come inside me. Mark me on the inside. Cover me in your cum. I want it, sweetheart. Fuck, I need it.”

My hand picks up speed. I watch Maverick whimper and squirm. I can feel the way his ass is tightening around the head of my dick, massaging my orgasm from me. He’s so tight, so warm, so perfect.

Everything, all at once, goes white.

Maverick cries out as he comes. I can smell his salty release, can feel the way his ass is milking my cock, the way his body tenses around me. It’s too much. Pleasure slides down my spine before I’m jolted with pleasure so overwhelming I have no words to describe it. It’s like I’m seeing a divine being for the first time, blinded by how perfect it is.

“Maverick,” I try to say but it comes out as the most pathetic whimper.

My dick throbs against my palm as I come inside of Maverick, filling him with my thick seed. I come and I come and I come before finally pulling out. I aim the tip of my cock to his stomach, wanting the last of my orgasm to land on his skin.

All of those instincts to claim and mark and possess come to a screeching halt. Finally, I feel sated.

Maverick’s hole oozes with my cum. I can’t stop watching the way it drips down his crack onto the bed below. His stomach is covered with our cum, mixing together on his belly. I run my fingers through it, wiping it against his spent dick, rubbing it into his skin.

“Thane,” Maverick finally says, grabbing my wrist. “Come here.”

I fall forward, collapsing against Maverick’s chest. He runs his fingers through my hair before kissing my forehead. Everything inside of me is so still, so quiet. Everything is fuzzy around the edges in the most wonderful way.

I’m warm. I’m cared for. I’m loved.

My eyes are heavy and I don’t fight it.

“You’re so perfect,” Maverick murmurs into my hair. “So good. I’m so lucky that you’re mine.”

I feel better than I ever have before. I fall asleep with a smile on my face, knowing without a doubt that Maverick will take care of me.

Chapter Thirteen

Maverick

I tuck my hands into my dress pants as I walk towards campus. It’s been about two weeks since the night Thane came to my house, desperate from the blood moon.

I wouldn’t say things have changed between the two of us, but they do feel more real. Maybe real isn’t the right word. When I first met Thane, I told myself not to get attached. I tried so desperately to keep him at arm’s length. Before that night, I knew I loved him but seeing him like that? Having him inside of me? Showing him how much we trust each other?

There’s no going back.

I am hopelessly in love with him and there’s no putting that back into its box. Thane is it for me. I can feel the truth of that statement in my very soul, in the marrow of my bones. He’s the one I want, for as long as he’ll have me.

Creelin U campus is lit up with decorations tonight in celebration of the Halloween Ball. Lights are strung up between the trees, giving everything a magical feel. The weather is perfect tonight, crisp but not too chilly. I make my way through the gates, nodding at the gargoyles who stand watch. I still can’t tell which are alive and which are stone. Hopefully I’m nodding at the right ones.

As I scan the quad, it’s easy to spot Thane. Or maybe, I’m just drawn to him. He’s wearing a black button up with black slacks that fit like a glove. The black looks really nice against his green skin, making the tone naturally brighter. The bowtie around his throat is orange, a bright spot of color.

His hair is done in a gorgeous updo tonight and I don’t know if he managed to put it up himself or if his roommate or maybe his sister helped him with it. A few strands of hair dangle around his face, framing it. He’s wearing eyeliner again tonight along with the special jewelry on his tusks he saves for special occasions.

Fuck, he’s gorgeous.

As much as I’d like to stand here, staring at Thane, I force my feet to keep moving. Thane grins at something his sister says, his entire face lighting up. My stomach warms and I find myself smiling as well, not hearing what they’re talking about but enjoying seeing the man I’ve come to care so much about smiling like that.

Tess sees me walking over, nudging her brother and nodding in my direction. Thane looks over, his smile going impossibly wider. He looks me up and down and I force myself not to preen like a peacock.

The two of us are so used to seeing each other in jeans and a hoodie, or a pair of scrubs in my case, that it’s a bit of a shock to see us so dressed up. We clean up nice.

“Why, hello,” Tess says, taking a step forward to intercept me before I can get to Thane. “It’s about time we finally met!”

“Tess,” Thane says with a groan, covering his face with his hands. It makes me chuckle softly.

“Hello,” I say, giving her a little bow in greeting. “It’s lovely to officially meet you, Tess.”
