“Have you ever dated someone?” Specter asks.
“No. Not since—” I pause as ugly memories swirl in my mind. “I had a bad breakup years ago. Left a scar I’m not willing to reopen.”
Both my brothers are silent.
“Besides, that’s not what this is. Blush is just… fun. That’s all he wants too.”
“If you say so,” Phantom says.
“So why aren’t you and Ghost hanging out?”
Specter makes a sound like he’s holding back a laugh while Phantom narrows his eyes.
“Who says we’re not?”
“You’re here tonight. Not with him. That’s not normal.”
Phantom huffs, dragging his hand through his dark hair. “No, it’s not normal. I don’t know what’s going on with him. He’s been acting weird for a few weeks now. It’s like he’s pissy all the time, but when I ask him about it, he blows it off.”
Specter glances at me at the same time as I look in his direction. I subtly nod.
“If you want my opinion,” Specter starts, “Ghost is jealous.”
“Jealous of what?” Phantom asks.
My attention veers away from the conversation when Blush comes out from the back and the lights lower for Cashmere. My brothers continue talking quietly, but my focus is on Blush as he works the crowd, finding a table to sit at while Cashmere takes the stage.
Blush looks my way more than once, acting engaged with the man chatting him up, and I know he’s pushing my buttons. He’s being my pretty little brat, and he wants me to make him pay for it. This isn’t my normal dynamic with anyone, but I can’t say I don’t like it.
“Dude, how are you not climbing the walls?” Specter asks, his eyes trained on his husband even as he talks to me.
“What do you mean?”
“Before we were an item, I expected Cashmere at my table if I was here.”
“Well that’s because you’re a possessive asshole. I’m not.”
He laughs. “Fair. Still, it doesn’t bother you?”
“He’s doing it on purpose. He wants to see what I’ll do.”
“What will you do?”
“Haven’t decided yet.” But that spanking idea is starting to sound appealing.
Cashmere’s set is wrapping up, and when he’s finished, we’re out of our seats, clapping and cheering. I make a point to whistle and hype up Cashmere, glancing at Blush to see him watching me with narrowed eyes. Two can play the jealousy game.
Blush stands as the lights come up a little and sashays past our table, saying “Time to go” as he passes.
“See you guys later.” I’m out the door and waiting for Blush seconds later. He appears after a few minutes, now wearing jeans and a tank top that shows off his sculpted arms and broad chest.
“Where you taking me, Daddy?”
Shaking my head, I slide my hand onto his lower back and pull him into me. “You’re really asking for it, aren’t you?”
He bats his eyelashes. “Me? I’m just a baby.”
“A baby. Right.”
