Mikey arched his neck back, and I sucked again—harder this time.

“Cal,” he groaned, fisting my hair, hips jerking beneath me. “I want you inside me.” I pulled off him with a pop, pushing up onto my forearm to search his face, my thumb tracing the red mark on his throat. “Been thinking about it for days.”

“Fuck,” I breathed out, dropping down to take his mouth again. “I love you so fucking much.”

“I love you, too,” he said against my lips. “And, umm, I don’t want you to use a condom,” he rushed out, one word tumbling over the next.

My brain stalled out completely, the little hamster on the wheel that powered it grinding to a halt. For one bewildering second, I wondered if I’d actually heard the words come out of his mouth or if I’d just imagined it.

“Mikey.” I disentangled my legs from his and shifted away until I was kneeling between his thighs.

“We both got tested at the beginning of the season,” he reasoned. “And I haven’t been with anyone since way before then. I don’t think you have either?”

I didn’t miss the way his voice tipped up at the end, more question than statement of fact.

I shook my head. “I haven’t been with anyone since before last Christmas, and I’ve been tested twice since then.”

“So we can do it?”

I’d never thought sex without a condom was some holy grail or pathway to nirvana. I was a man who had sex with other men, and condoms were a necessary part of that, but hearing him so eager to take me bare, the hairs on my arms stood on end.

“I never have before,” I admitted. “Either way.”

“I haven’t either. With women, I mean. And you’re the only man, so …”

“Right,” I said, swinging my legs over the edge of the bed and dropping into a crouch near my luggage to rifle around in my toiletry kit for the lube.

“I don’t know if I told you this before—I think I might have, except my brain’s kind of all over the place right now—but I’m on PrEP. So there’s that, too.”

“Yeah, you told me,” he confirmed, a small smile forming on his lips. “Explained it all pretty thoroughly, in fact.”

Translation: I gave him a five-minute dissertation on the pharmacological history of the drug, its benefits, and what that meant for my—our—sex life.

“Okay, good. Just wanted to be sure”

My fingers closed around the bottle, and I popped back up, ducking my head to clear the slope of the roof.

In the short time I was down on the floor, Mikey had ditched his underwear, and he was working his dick with slow, lazy tugs.

“Cal?”

“Yeah?” Reluctantly, I dragged my eyes away from the single most beautiful cock I’d ever had the good fortune of knowing.

“You gonna join me anytime soon?” He smirked up at me, knowing exactly what this little display was doing to me.

“Yes. Sorry.” I shucked off my boxers and climbed onto the bed, the mattress springs squeaking as I made my way between his legs.

He chuckled. “Nothing to be sorry for. I love that you’re so hot for my cock.”

“Shut up,” I said, placing the lube off to the side. If Mikey was cool with what I was about to propose, I wouldn’t be needing it for a good long while.

I ran my hands up and down his quads, fighting my nerves while simultaneously acknowledging I had zero reason to be nervous. It was only we hadn’t done this before—hadn’t even talked about it—but I really wanted to.

“You’re making a face,” he said, his eyebrows scrunching up in what I assumed was his impression of me. “It’s okay if you don’t want to do this. I won’t be mad or anything.”

“Oh, no. I totally do. Like, a lot. I just … kind of … I want to eat your ass first,” I blurted.

His eyebrows shot up. “You do?”
