I blew out a breath. “That’s... a lot.”

“A lot of perfect.” Rennick glanced away. “I’m glad I could relieve those feelings you had. I believe they can be frustrating.”

Rennick had suddenly gone all formal. Weird. “Yeah, thanks for that. It... well, it won’t happen again.”

“I have no objection if it does. I meant everything I said when my fingers were deep inside you.”

My eyebrows shot up. “Ummm... Good to know.”

We stared at each other. I wanted him to touch me again. I wanted him to do all those things he’d whispered in my ear.

“What does this mean for my ship?” he asked.

My gaze flicked around the room. “I hate to break it to you, but I think she’s haunted by dead aliens.”

Chapter 10

Rennick

“Haunted?” I could barely focus on anything other than Cass.

She nodded, her lips swollen and hair messy where I’d shoved her against the wall, spread her legs, and...

I shook my head. “I don’t believe in ghosts.”

“Let’s see what the others think.” Cass walked to the door, and, of course, it opened for her. She checked the corridor. “Doc must have gone to find the others. They’ll be close to the food, so let’s start in the galley.”

I opened my mouth to say more, but my brain scrambled back to my fingers inside Cass’s tight, wet heat, her pussy clenched against my fingers as she climaxed.

“You coming?” She walked out of the room.

I stood where she left me, her pussy juices still on my fingers, and the taste of her skin and mouth in mine.

The Hollow Chorus hummed low around me, settled in a way she hadn’t for a month. Every nerve in my body was aimed at the corridor Cass had just disappeared into.

My hands shook. I turned them over and stared at the gold residue ground into the lines of my palms, at the places where her wet heat had pressed against me. My already hard cock stirred again from the memory of it. Her hips. The sound she made when I curled my fingers inside her. The way her head fell back, and her thighs tightened around my wrist like she’d break something before she let me stop.

I pressed my hands against the wall until the shaking settled. The ship pulsed warm under my skin.

“Pleased with yourself?” I pulled away. “You started this, but I don’t know how to finish it, so cooperate or stop causing trouble.”

The lights in the corridor brightened, cheerful as anything. My ship was in a good mood for the first time in a month, and the reason for it had just walked away from me.

I headed to the galley.

Doc sat on the counter with her legs crossed, scanner resting on one knee, a mug of coffee in her hand, and a look on her face that told me everything about how the last ten minutes had read on her monitoring equipment.

Tambi was at the far end of the galley, scrolling through data, not looking up but not missing anything either.

Monica leaned against the cold storage unit with her arms folded.

Doc sipped her coffee. “Your private diagnostic went well?”

“It was... productive.” Cass moved toward the coffee machine, keeping her eyes front.

“Mmmm. The readings were fascinating.” Doc uncrossed her legs and swung them. “Your heart rate hit one-sixty during the... procedure. The spike at minute eight was alarming. A textbook stress response.”

“Or a something response.” Monica made a noise behind her coffee cup, her gaze on me.
