“He is. He completes this unit,” Cleo said.

Jagger leaned back in his seat. “A lesson has been learned, on all sides. I have no problem with Hunter re-joining your crew.”

Commissioner Viewick looked unhappy. “Very well. If you think that’s the right course of action.”

Hunter nodded. “I won’t let you down.”

He fought the urge to grin like a crazy alien. He was home, back with his woman, and she was all his. And they needed to make up for lost time. Hunter planned to get Cleo alone and naked as soon as he could get the hell out of this grilling.

“Keep sending through the information,” Jagger said. “We plan to launch a major attack on the Siblet. They’re still digging in their heels and denying any involvement, but the evidence is clear. Their days are numbered.”

“We’ll send you everything as quickly as we can,” Cleo said.

Hunter reached for Cleo the instant the screen went blank and kissed her. “There’s no getting rid of me now.”

“The thought never crossed my mind.” She grinned up at me. “That was easier than I thought it would be.”

Hunter teased down her neck with his teeth and tongue. “Jagger loves me.”

Cleo pulled back. “Before you get any ideas, the rest of the team is about to arrive.”

He groaned. “We don’t need them. And I have things I want to do to you that definitely shouldn’t have an audience.”

She chuckled. “Tonight. I promise.”

A second later, the door opened, and the rest of the team entered.

They settled in their seats, and Cleo moved to her usual position at the front of the table.

Hunter stood beside her, proud of his woman. Everything felt right again. Better than right. It was perfect.

“Let’s have a progress update on the latest tests on the poison,” Cleo said to Dallin.

“We found something worrying in the samples and information you brought back.” He glanced at Angel.

She leaned forward in her seat. “I thought I had an antidote, but it seems the Siblet are using different strains of poison, or it’s been mutated. The antidote I used on Ash, is no longer so effective. It takes longer to work.”

“You can find an antidote for this new poison?” Cleo said.

Angel nodded. “It’ll take some time. But I’m in contact with Atticus Damiran and his sister on Laire. He’s got some ideas about an antidote.”

“You talk to him a lot,” Sloane said, a tease in her voice.

Angel shrugged. “He’s a clever guy. He’s got lots of ideas. I like listening to them.”

Sloane nudged Wren, who grinned.

“Keep working on any ideas you have about this poison. We’re not letting the Siblet defeat us,” Cleo said.

Hunter stepped forward as the group discussed options and lowered his mouth until it was close to Cleo’s ear. “We’ll find a way to beat them. And we’ll do it together.”

She looked up, and the expression of love in her eyes filled his heart with joy. “We will. Especially now we’ve got the team back together.”

Hunter pressed a kiss to her forehead. Everything would work out, especially with his mate right where she needed to be.

Nothing would stand in the way of his perfect future with Cleo.
