“There’s lots of things very wrong with me, but if you give back a little of what I gave you, that’ll hold me over.”

Eden tilted her head. “I can give you back your energy?”

“It’s a trick Daisy showed me. We didn’t realize it, but when we give a Human our energy, we can take it back if they agree to it.”

“Then let’s do it.” Eden hesitated, and her eyes narrowed. “An energy transfer needs close contact. How did Daisy demonstrate this to you? You haven’t been locking lips with her behind my back, have you?”

Blaze tipped back his head and laughed. “Would you be jealous if I had?”

“I love Daisy, but I’d be tempted to claw her face off if that’s what happened.” She thumped him on the chest when he laughed harder. “And if Rexx found out, he’d rip your head off.”

Blaze loved that she was jealous. “Daisy demonstrated on Rexx. I wouldn’t dream of touching her. I have everything I need right here.”

Eden ran her fingers through his hair and snuggled against him. “That’s good to know. So, how do I give this energy back to you?”

“The same way I gave it to you. Only a little. If I take it all, the healing you’ve gone through will reverse. It’ll drain you.”

“I need you back on your feet,” Eden said, her eyes sparkling. “I have plans for you. Plans that require you to have a lot of stamina.”

Her gaze traveled over his face. She gently kissed several tender spots. “You’re already bloodied up, so this could work. But you know how I feel about these icky transfers.”

“I know. Find me a blade. I’ll make this as painless as possible for you.”

Eden looked at Madrie. She strode over, pulled a blade from his belt, and returned to Blaze.

He made a fresh cut on his hand.

Eden grimaced but held out her hand for him to do the same to her. “Why can’t an energy transfer be romantic? Like you give me a flower or something, not smear me with your blood.”

He grinned. “I didn’t have you down as the romantic type.”

“Every woman needs a little romance in her life.” She tangled their fingers and pressed her palm against his.

The second they made contact, fire fizzled through Blaze’s veins.

“Will you look at that? Your eyes are changing color,” she said. “Sexy purple once again.”

Blaze breathed in deeply as life flooded through him. “That’s enough.”

“Just another couple of seconds,” Eden said. “I still feel okay.”

He gently tugged his hand away from hers and wriggled his fingers. “I’m good. Thanks. I needed that.”

“Anytime. What’s mine is yours. Especially since you gave me this super juice in the first place. Now, where were we?” She leaned closer, her tongue tracing across her bottom lip.

She was such a temptation. Everything about Eden dragged him to her. Blaze let himself have a minute to stroke her body, taste her mouth, and make her gasp before pulling back.
