Daisy planted both hands on his chest, her body tensing as his fingers stroked her.
He pressed her clit, firing dots into her vision. Everything tightened, and she cried out his name as she climaxed.
Rexx groaned, thrusting up inside her before growing even harder and releasing.
Daisy dropped on top of him, a sweaty mess of pleasure. Her lips pressed against his neck, taking a few seconds to enjoy his hard, scarred body as he breathed deeply.
He still held her close, always checking she was good.
She snuggled on top of him. In ten minutes, he’d be ready to do that all over again.
Rexx made a noise of protest as she shifted off the bed.
“I’m starving. And other than speaking to Cleo, I’ve barely left this room. I need food and fresh air,” Daisy said.
“Stay here. I’ll go get food.”
She kissed his cheek. “Let me look after you for once. What do you want?”
“You, naked and underneath me on your knees, while I spread your legs and—”
“Rexx! Enough.” Daisy’s cheeks heated as she pulled on her clothes and boots.
He grumbled another protest. “Later then. Tonight.”
“Yes, you can have me all night long.”
“I love the sound of that.”
There was a knock at the door.
Daisy walked over and opened it. Estelle stood outside.
Her gaze went past Daisy, and she grinned. “I figured you’d be busy. I just wanted to let you know there’s food downstairs.”
“Perfect. I was coming down to get something.”
“And your crew has been in touch. They’ll be here in twelve hours.”
Daisy hesitated. Things could be tricky there for a while. She hoped she hadn’t shattered people’s trust by her actions. “Thanks. It’ll be good to see them again.”
“Atticus is speaking to someone called Angel. They’re excited about something geeky to do with the Inkral tech. I left them to it.” She looked in at Rexx again. “Food’s ready when you are. Take your time.”
“Thanks, Estelle. For everything.”
“Anytime.” She winked and walked away.
“Attention, soldier. We have things to do.” Daisy turned back to the bed.
“Only if you let me do you one more time.”
She threw his T-shirt at him. “Get up. Or have you forgotten how to be a warrior?”
He rolled off the bed, strode over and kissed her so passionately she almost blacked out.
Rexx let go and laughed as she swayed, before catching hold of her elbow. It was such a rare sound that it made Daisy’s heart stutter. She knew there’d be a lot more laughter in their lives from now on.
“I’ll always be here to protect you,” he said.
