“We know what they want to do with us,” Eden said. “Bun in the oven and baby Gentes by the bucketload. It makes me sick thinking about it.”

“It’s worse than that,” Daisy said. “They’re considering going back and raiding the Apocalypse. They know there are more women on-board. They want every female on that ship. And they want the animal cargo back.”

“No fricking way,” Wren said. “We have to warn the others. They’ll be tailing the Gente. They could fly straight into a trap.”

“Agreed,” Eden said. “But what can we do about it stuck in this cage?”

“We stop them,” Wren said. “We find a way out, break some Gente heads, and get back to the Apocalypse.”

“I love the plan, but we’re short on weapons and able bodies. You were limping so badly that I thought you wouldn’t make it after they dragged you back here,” Eden said. “And as you said, Daisy looks like death warmed up.”

Daisy grimaced. “I can fight if I have to, but I’m not running a marathon anytime soon.”

“I know we’re injured, and we don’t have weapons, but we have to get out of here. We’re not letting these assholes win,” Wren said.

“I’m not against the theory,” Daisy said. “But I saw at least six Gente when I was being treated. And there were a couple of pervy ones who came to take a look at the injured female and decide who got the first turn on her.”

“They deserve a lesson in how to treat a prisoner. One they’ll never forget,” Eden said.

“We’re getting out of here. We’re all getting back,” Wren said. “And I’ve got something I have to get back for.”

“You’re already missing your work?” Eden grinned.

“No, I’m missing my guy.” She’d seen the video of Striker being taken out. The image was seared into her brain, but she didn’t believe he was dead. Striker was a fighter, just like her. He’d have found a way through this.

Daisy grinned lopsidedly. “I didn’t know whether the thing between you two was serious or if you were working out your frustrations on Striker.”

Wren shook her head. “I don’t know what it is, but he’s my guy.”

“It’s about time you figured that out,” Eden said. “All the sexual tension between you two made me dizzy with lust. I’d have to go for a long shower and use the detachable shower head to cool myself off.”

“Jeez, Eden! You don’t need to be so graphic,” Daisy said.

“I absolutely do. Those shower heads are incredible. I recommend them. Not that you’ll need it now you’ve got Striker to tease your important bits.”

Wren ducked her head. She was ready for Striker. Every messed up, idiotic inch of him. He was hers. No matter how badly he’d been hurt, she’d find him. He was out there somewhere; she just knew it.

“So, it’s agreed we want out,” Eden said.

“It sure is,” Daisy said.

“What do we do next?” Eden said.

“We get the Gentes’ attention. If we can get a couple of them here, we can overpower them and grab their weapons,” Wren said.

“They’re already cautious of us,” Eden said. “Especially now they’ve seen us in action.”

“Daisy, how about you have a relapse?” Wren said. “I’ll pretend I’m looking after you, while Eden calls for help. If the Gente think they’re only dealing with one of us, they could drop their guard. Once the cage door is open, Eden grabs one Gente and I’ll go for the other. Focus on getting their weapons. Then we take them out and grab control of the ship.”

“After killing the rest of the crew?” Daisy sounded doubtful.

“If they insist on getting in our way,” Wren said.

Eden looked around the cage before nodding. “It’s a crazy-assed plan, and the odds aren’t in our favor. I love it. You two get in position. I’ll call for help.”

Daisy shrugged. “I’d rather die trying to get free than spread my legs for those fuckers. Let’s do it.” She hunched over, while Wren crouched next to her.

Eden began to yell. “Hey, we’re in trouble in here. We need help.” She rattled the bars.
