“I agree. I deserve the absolute best. Since you have drawn my attention to his questionable reputation, a reputation that deserves to be punished, I shall enact my old ways one more time before exploring other avenues.”

Elias pressed his lips together. “You intend to join with him and then...”

“I intend to go through with the official joining. Then I shall enjoy myself in my own special way.” Princess Isolt smiled, displaying her sharp teeth. “Humans do taste rather fine. You can be assured I will no longer keep my private bone collection on my ship. After Professor Grenville has been dealt with, I shall consider other ways of amusing myself in the bedroom.”

“As I am discovering, there are lots of pleasurable things to do that don’t involve teeth.”

Her gaze hardened. “You walk a fine line. You are still a subject of mine.”

Elias smiled. “I speak the truth.”

Princess Isolt looked away. “It is time I listened to my future people. My father will not be on the throne for many more years. It has been agreed a female will take full control. I need to ensure I understand and respect those I will rule over. As you said, love is a powerful thing. It should not be ignored.”

“You will make a wise and successful ruler if you follow that path,” Elias said.

“That I will. Make sure you remain on your best behavior when I am queen.”

“You will welcome me back home if I wish to return?”

She gave a slight shrug of her shoulders. “You no longer have to fear me. I believe we have learned valuable lessons during our time on Prodigy.”

Elias’s head spun with the thought that, one day, he would go back and see everything he’d left behind. He did have people he cared about and had denied it for too long. Now, he was free to return. He’d love to take Hayley home and show her his world. She’d love it there too. He couldn’t wait to tell her.

“I have a final request.”

Princess Isolt snorted a laugh. “Love might have made you stupid, as well as brave. You try my patience.”

“My friend, Tegor. Has he been released?”

She waved a hand in the air. “I have already forgotten him. I have no interest in a Draxdan. You will have your friend back unharmed.”

“I appreciate that.”

“I am sure you do. We are finished here. You may leave.”

This time, Elias bowed low and formally in front of her. “As is your wish, Princess. May I wish you a happy union with your future mate.”

She smirked. “Oh yes, I will have a delightful time. I have a feeling he might not be so happy.”

Elias grinned as he strode from Princess Isolt’s room and headed to the store to buy a selection of delicacies for Hayley. That couldn’t have worked any better. Princess Isolt would enact a gruesome revenge on Professor Grenville, but it was no less than he deserved. And she was willing to consider change, maybe even bring an end to females devouring their mates. An end to male Retars fearing intimacy and missing out on so much pleasure, pleasure he’d only just begun to discover.

Elias had everything to look forward to. His future with Hayley excited him. He couldn’t wait to explore all the possibilities together with the woman he loved.

Chapter 29

A mix of sadness and embarrassment ran through Hayley as she cleared her meager office supplies at My Single Alien. Vegas was there, along with Nell, Sinead, and Kendra. They all wore the same sympathetic expressions on their faces as they watched her pack her box of belongings. She was careful to make sure her dinosaur figurines would not get squashed at the bottom.

“I wish you weren’t going,” Nell said. “You showed real potential.”

Hayley shrugged. She’d told the girls the reason she’d lied on her resume, and they’d all understood. It was just a shame Diadora wouldn’t budge on her decision to fire her.

“Thanks, but I was winging it. Just when I thought I’d gotten the hang of things, another twist in the database algorithms would pop up, and I’d have to start all over again. It was only a matter of time before Diadora realized I was a fraud. It’s a pity she had to find out from that sneak, Raymond.”

It had been five days since Diadora had fired her. In that time, Hayley had spent every moment she could with Elias, getting to know him in every way possible. Their sex was out of this world incredible, especially now he knew she never bit him, and her screams were all to do with pleasure, not pain.

Elias had also been true to his word at becoming experienced in the oral arts. She’d lost count of the number of orgasms she’d had with her leg spread and his face buried between her thighs. He did something incredible with his tongue that had her panting and begging for more.

Hayley was head over heels in love with Elias. He’d healed her heart and showed her what true love was. She was never letting it go.
