Rane

Nell stretched and yawned. She turned on her side, sensing she was alone in Rane’s bedroom.

She sat up slowly and looked around. Rane never left her alone for more than a few minutes. She hadn’t even realized she’d fallen asleep as she’d waited for him to come back with food.

Nell took in a deep breath. Her initial feelings of calm already gave way to a shaky sensation. Her forehead felt damp with sweat.

“Rane, where are you when I need you.” She already wanted another hit off him to help her get back to sleep.

Nell checked the time, and her eyebrows rose. He’d been gone for over an hour.

She fell back on the bed and smiled to herself. Despite him not being there to reassure her, this was progress. Nell felt like celebrating and sharing with others that she was finally beating her fears.

She knew who’d be thrilled by her news. Despite the late hour, she opened a comm link and tapped out a message to Doctor Kingsbury, giving her an update on her breakthrough. She was always a big supporter and would be delighted at this progress.

After sending the message, she placed a hand on the empty side of the bed. She missed not having Rane next to her.

Nell gave a quiet huff of disbelief. If she’d told herself a few weeks ago that she’d miss lying next to an alien, she’d have laughed.

Things were different now. Nell felt different after every night with Rane. She felt a little more able to cope.

She spotted Rane’s tablet by the side of the bed. She sat up and placed it on her knee. It was time to see how much progress she’d really made.

Nell opened a blank document and began to type.

For the first few minutes, the words coming out felt awkward and stilted, as if she was out of practise. She was. It had been a long time since she’d been able to tell a story and feel happy with it.

As the time ticked by, it became easier, and she couldn’t keep up with her thoughts as the story flowed out of her fingers.

Nell grinned as she continued to type. This was amazing. She’d finally defeated her writer’s block. Not only that, but her writing was the steamiest she’d ever imagined.

In a moment of impetuousness, she pulled up her website and wrote a quick post, copying some of her unedited work straight onto the site. She added a message:

More coming soon. I’ve got a new release on its way.

Not wanting to get distracted, Nell carried on with her writing.

As she fleshed out her male love interest, Nell noticed he bore a striking resemblance to Rane. She’d depicted him as a large, pale green alien with empathic abilities and the sexiest, deepest voice she’d ever heard.

She shook her head. It was a coincidence. Of course, she’d think about him as she created her gorgeous fictional alien. She’d been spending all her free time around him. There was nothing to it.

As the romance in the story intensified, Nell grew warm and her thighs tingled, always good signs she was writing hot stuff. If she could get herself off with her words, her readers would enjoy it.

She grabbed a spare pillow from Rane’s side of the bed and stuffed it between her thighs, unconsciously grinding against it as the first love scene reached its climax.

“Oh boy, my readers are in so much trouble.” Her cheeks were flushed, and her breathing shallow as she finished her first pantie-scorching sex scene and saved it.

Nell read through her words. They were amazing. So what if her alien love interest was like Rane. He was the perfect role model for her to base her fantasy on.

She looked down at the pillow clamped between her thighs and blushed. This was Rane’s pillow. He was supposed to sleep on this, and she’d been grinding on it like a horny teenager.

She extracted the pillow and carefully plumped it up. He would never know. It wasn’t as if she’d orgasmed all over it like a guy would, leaving a sticky trail of shame for him to find. She’d just done a little pleasurable grinding. There was no harm in that.

As Nell settled the pillow behind her, she thought about Rane. Maybe there was more she could do with him. He’d always been upfront about his interest in her. It wasn’t so much what he said, but the way he watched her when he didn’t think she noticed. And she’d not missed the huge boner he’d had when they’d almost kissed after dancing, no matter how quick he was to hide it. Besides, something that big would be impossible to miss.

Could they be more than friends? After her abduction, Nell never thought she’d be able to go with an alien. Rane was different. The more time she spent with him, the less she considered him an alien and the more she thought of him as an ally. He was someone she’d grown to rely on in a surprisingly short amount of time.

Technically, she’d already shifted to third base and then some with Rane after the whole embarrassing incident on the shuttle. She shook as she remembered how close she’d been to not stopping. If it hadn’t been for him having self-control and reminding her it wasn’t the smartest move she’d ever made, exactly how far would she have gone?

Maybe it was time to find out. Nell looked at the door, half-hoping it would open and Rane would be outside.
