Ivy launched herself at Marcus. She grabbed him around the neck and yanked him out of his seat. She got a couple of good kicks to his stomach before he shoved her away and jumped up. “Have you lost your mind?”
“No, but you have.”
He rubbed his stomach. “I was being nice to you.”
“You asked me to suck you off on the off-chance you’d turn the ship around.”
Marcus shrugged. “A guy has his needs.”
Ivy aimed a punch at his face, but Marcus ducked out of the way. She tried to rake her nails down his face, but he grabbed her wrists and pulled her to him.
“Stop fighting. It used to be cute; now it’s tiring. I need you to do me this one tiny favor, and you won’t ever have to see me again.”
“I will never do this.” Her knee slammed into his groin.
Marcus staggered backwards and landed on top of the controls. He groaned and dropped to his knees. “Bitch.”
“It’s no less than you deserve.” Ivy’s attention shifted to a worrying looking red light on the control panel.
“Auto pilot has been disengaged,” the ship’s computer said.
The ship lurched to the side.
Ivy grabbed the back of the seat. “Fix it. Get autopilot back.” She jabbed a finger at Marcus.
He remained on the ground and clutched his groin.
She jumped into the pilot’s seat and stared at the controls. Her fingers hovered over the control panel.
“You’ll only make it worse,” Marcus groaned.
Ivy pressed a button.
“Stabilizers deactivated.”
“Crap! No, don’t do that.” Ivy stabbed at the button with her finger.
The ship shuddered again and lurched up and down.
She grabbed the arms of the chair to stop from being flung out of her seat and hitting the wall.
Ivy turned as she heard a thump. Marcus was slumped on his side and blood leaked out of a cut on his head.
Cold terror gripped Ivy’s heart. The one person who knew how to fly this shuttle was out cold.
Ivy turned back to the controls as the ship gave another sickening lurch. She was in so much trouble.
