“Happy birthday to the most beautiful Italian woman I know!”
He kisses my cheek, and I laugh harder.
He's such a flirt.
“That's enough, Jace,” Jude calls from below the stage.
Jace turns towards him and gives him the middle finger before addressing the man running karaoke, who already looks as though he's regretting every life choice that led him to this job.
“My turn!”
As soon as the song starts, we all burst out laughing, and Ethan spits his beer all over the table.
“No fucking way.”
Jace starts singing along to Shake It Off, badly, loudly and with absolutely no shame. He shakes his ass through the first verse, pointing at random people in the bar as though he's performing to a sold-out stadium.
By the first chorus, his shirt comes off.
The women in the bar lose their minds. Screams and whistles erupt around us as Jace swings his shirt over his head and keeps singing, shaking his hips like his life depends on it.
I look around at everyone cheering him on, but when my gaze lands on Cassie, I notice that she's looking everywhere except at the stage.
“Come sing with me, Cassandra!” Jace yells into the microphone.
Cassie looks up, her cheeks turning bright red, before she shakes her head in horror.
“Shut up, Hawthorne!” she yells back.
She immediately looks away, as though she's surprised herself by saying it, while Jace turns around and starts shaking his ass again.
“Oh my God.” Summer is laughing so hard she's bent over the table.
“That's my brother,” Grace says flatly.
Penny whistles and throws both hands into the air. “Take it off, Hawthorne!”
Cas slowly turns his head towards his wife. “Excuse me?”
“What?” Penny shrugs. “I'm supportive.”
“Of my brother stripping?”
“Of the arts.”
I nearly choke on my beer.
I look over at Lily, expecting some kind of motherly horror, but she simply shakes her head and takes another sip of her drink, as though she's already used to this.
Josh, on the other hand, looks almost proud.
“That's my boy.”
Lily turns towards him. “Don't encourage him.”
“Too late!” Jace yells from the stage.
The whole bar laughs, and I glance at Jude, who's standing near the table with his arms crossed over his chest, staring at his brother as though he'd very much like to pretend they don't share DNA.
