Anger surged into Uriel’s veins. He wrote a spell in midair and flicked it at the alpha, yanking out two of his teeth with no anesthetics. The man screamed.

“Nice,” Bruiser said. “And I completely agree. Why not let the victims deal their own punishment?”

“You can’t do that!” the first kidnapper yelled. “You’re an alpha!”

Bruiser kicked him in the head. “Don’t worry, I didn’t knock him out. He should be awake to experience what he deserves.”

“Or maybe he’ll wake up to his precious alpha parts gone,” Uriel said. “That would work too.”

The kidnappers screamed louder.

“It’s great pre-meal entertainment,” Bruiser said. “Lets the omegas work up an appetite.”

Uriel nodded. “Let me get their meal orders, and we’ll bring them over.”

“We should do this for all rescues, going forward,” Bruiser said, his grin bloodthirsty.

It made something sing in Uriel’s chest. Maybe he shouldn’t like an alpha who got violent like this, but, well. Uriel had committed his own bits of violence, getting captured omegas to safety.

He told the new batch of omegas about himself, then went around asking about their meal preferences. When that was done, Bruiser put in an order to the restaurants they’d been buying from.

Uriel stopped by the cabin to pick up Fenn and the babies, and they continued on their way to pick up food from the restaurants. Then they returned to the trafficking facility, where the omegas were beating up their kidnappers.

“Wow,” Fenn whispered, transfixed by the sight.

“Been a while, huh?” Uriel said.

“It really has. Can I join in?”

“I don’t see why not.” Uriel landed near the beating, taking Mellie from Fenn.

Bruiser came over with a smirk. “Want to get in on the action yourself?”

“Nah. Had my own yesterday.” Uriel had his arms full of babies, so Bruiser was the one to unload the food from Uriel’s traveling case. Hunner rounded up the omegas and they all moved to the other side of the compound for a peaceful meal.

It pleased Uriel that the omegas were looking more at ease now.

“My vacation’s ending soon,” Bruiser said next to Uriel, with boxes of pizza, beef stir-fry, and fried chicken between them.

“Oh.” Uriel’s heart sank. The past few days had been such a whirlwind that he’d completely forgotten about this having an expiration date.

“Jorvik and Maddox will be here this evening, to take over the watch,” Bruiser continued. “I was planning on heading off then. Go home and enjoy the last of my vacation.”

Uriel stuffed a bite of pizza into his mouth, his heart thumping.

Bruiser glanced sidelong at him. “Will you be coming with me?”

“Way to pile on the innuendo,” Uriel muttered, his ears growing hot.

“Only the biggest and longest for you.”

Uriel snorted. He glanced at the omegas around them, but deep down, he knew he had already decided. “Guess I’m coming.”

Bruiser grinned, his entire face lighting up. “Both ways?”

“I better be.”

“I’ll make sure of it.”
