What if Bruiser came to his senses, realized Uriel was no longer attractive, and decided to leave?

BODY WORSHIP

“Hey,” Bruiser murmured, cupping Uriel’s cheek. His hand was so warm.

Uriel jerked. “What?”

“We don’t have to do this if it makes you nervous.”

Uriel hunched his shoulders. “It’s not that, exactly.”

“Then what is it?”

“I’m not in heat anymore. You don’t... have to want this. I’m all scarred up and—”

“Sweetheart.” Bruiser slid his hands under Uriel, turning him bodily so they could see each other more easily. “I mean everything I said.”

“I still feel ugly,” Uriel blurted. Why couldn’t he keep his mouth shut around this alpha?

“You’re beautiful in your own way.” Bruiser pressed their foreheads together, so close that his eyes blurred and his warm breath fell on Uriel’s lips. “From what you’ve told me, you were amazing when you broke out of that Hell-hole and rescued those omegas. You’ve been great with the omegas we rescued yesterday and today. You’re good, really good at what you do.”

“I don’t feel like myself,” Uriel admitted. “Not in this body. Think about it. How would you feel if you were suddenly omega-shaped tomorrow, with no way of changing back?”

“Hmm.” Bruiser paused to think, but he didn’t stop brushing his fingers through Uriel’s hair, sending a wave of tingles through his scalp. “It would fuck with how I see myself,” Bruiser said slowly.

“It’s not as bad going from an omega-shaped body to an alpha-shaped body, because alphas are thought of as faster and stronger. Good qualities,” Uriel said. “But if you were an alpha who has lost all his muscles and strength, you would also lose the extra respect that alphas get. It would really suck for you.”

“You’ve thought about this.”

Uriel rolled his eyes. “Sometimes, when I can’t sleep at night.”

“You’re right, though. Going from omega to alpha is more of an upgrade. I can’t say the same for losing my alpha characteristics, and having to adapt to an omega-shaped body. All the things that I like about being alpha—my strength, the size of my... It would really suck if I still identify as an alpha on the inside. If I never get used to my omega-shaped body.”

“So you get what I’m saying.” Uriel sighed. “I don’t really want all these muscles. They’re just there. I don’t even work out, and I have abs. I just... want to be normal. Back to my old self.”

Bruiser winced. “I don’t know how to help with that. Maybe a medical procedure? If you get a higher dose of omega hormones, would that help to balance things out?”

Uriel blinked. “I... don’t know.”

“We could ask someone.”

“Doc said I could go to him if I had questions.”

Bruiser growled a little. “He knows about you?”

“He’s the only other alpha who knows. I accidentally talked about it to Ottis when Doc was looking at his phone, so Doc saw. But all the omegas know about me.”

Bruiser nodded. “Okay. That explains why you’re on such good terms with them.”

Uriel snorted. “Were you jealous?”

Bruiser looked shifty. “A little. You’re always surrounded by omegas. It looks incriminating to someone who doesn’t know.”

Uriel rolled his eyes. “Go get the package before it gets rained on.”

“Can’t you cast a weather protection spell on it?” Bruiser’s grin made it clear that he was joking.
