The Secret Omega’s Secret Baby

In the living room, Uriel murmured to his child, “Did he say anything to you?”

It was followed by a sigh. When Bruiser peeked, Cassie was kicking her legs and playing with Uriel’s mouth, flicking his lower lip up and down.

Uriel’s lips seemed kind of pink. They were kind of thick too; was that why Cassie kept grabbing them? Because they fit in her fist?

I’m not thinking about his mouth.

To get his thoughts back on track, Bruiser said, “So are you ordering breakfast, or not? Some of us don’t have time to wait around.”

Uriel flipped him off and scowled. “Don’t forget, you still owe me a favor.”

All because Bruiser had been captured by a massive fake cock in front of Doc’s mansion, and Uriel had been the only one who could free him.

Bruiser hated that Uriel still had that favor to hold over his head. “So you want me to get breakfast?”

Uriel stared at him for a long moment. “No, I’m not going to waste a favor on food, especially a favor from you. It could be so much more humiliating.”

To think Bruiser had even thought charitably about him!

“Fuck off,” Bruiser said.

Uriel glowered. “Not in front of a baby.”

“She can’t hear me, can she?”

And there was the crux of the matter—Bruiser wasn’t supposed to know about Cassie’s enhanced hearing, because he wasn’t supposed to know Cassie might be a dragon.

Uriel opened and closed his mouth, scowling. “I’m just going to buy you five sides of baked beans for breakfast.”

“Five sides of—” Bruiser spluttered. “What the—”

Uriel pulled out his phone, his eyes glinting. “I’ll request some freshly cut strawberries in your baked beans. Chocolate sprinkles too.”

“Are you looking for a fight?”

Uriel froze, just for a second. Then he eyed Bruiser as though he might have ideas on how he could take Bruiser down.

“You’re not going to win,” Bruiser promised lowly. “I’ll take you down just like I did last night.”

Uriel’s throat worked; his eyes flashed. “Yeah? Prove it.”

Before Bruiser could find the words to describe just how he would pin Uriel beneath him, the mage twitched, his gaze snapping to the side.

Bruiser followed his gaze. But there was only an empty wall where Uriel was looking. Actually, Uriel wasn’t looking—his gaze seemed faraway.

“Someone tripped the spell,” Uriel said.

“Now?” Bruiser scowled. “We haven’t had breakfast yet.”

“Yeah, deal with it,” Uriel muttered. “You think everything follows your schedule?”

It sucked that there wasn’t time for a piping hot breakfast sandwich. But the coffee was ready, and Bruiser wasn’t passing on that.

“I have coffee,” he said, grabbing a mug and filling it. Luckily for him, dragon tongues were immune to scalding liquid.
