“Has that happened before?” My heart thudded in my chest, but the stronger sensation was the deep throb in my ankle that returned with a vengeance.
He met my eyes and hope danced in his golden depths. “No.”
“Can we test if it worked?”
Zane glanced out the window. “It’s still dark. I can roam the woods until sunlight, so I wouldn’t be able to test it until then.” He carried me to the bed. “Let me hold you until then.”
“Only if you let me ask you a ton of questions.”
He kissed my nose and squeezed my ass. “You can ask me anything.”

EPILOGUE
As we lay in bed wrapped in each other’s arms, Zane’s bedroom filled with dappled sunlight peeking through the trees. I felt like I could sleep for three days, but I also wanted to stay awake and savor every moment before I had to return to the real world.
Zane pulled me tighter against him. “What if it didn’t work?” he asked quietly.
I gripped his chin and brushed a soft kiss against his lips. “Then I’ll come visit you. Try getting rid of me.” My incubus had a magic dick and a heart of gold. I wouldn’t fumble this.
His piercing stare saw through to the heart of me. “I couldn’t ask you to do that. You have a life outside of here.”
“Trust me, I’ve got plenty of room in my life to visit you.” I kissed him again because I could. “My playing with Damien time will become playing with Zane time. Easy.”
Zane chuckled roughly into my neck as he squeezed my ass. My dick twitched valiantly but was too spent to perk up with any meaningful interest.
“If it makes you feel better, I’ll volunteer to beta test the sequel. I’m very generous,” I mumbled into his chest.
The tension left his body as he kissed my hair. “So generous.” Zane trailed his fingertips across my hip. “I want to keep seeing you. You make me feel things I’ve never felt before.”
“Me too.” I kissed his collarbone. “Let’s find out if it worked.”
Zane moved slowly as we showered and ate a quick breakfast. I couldn’t blame him for not wanting to get his hopes up, but in the grand scheme of things, the curse wouldn’t stop us from exploring the chemistry between us.
My job allowed me to work remotely two days a week. If things went well, I could pair them with weekends to spend half my week with him. I could keep him fed while we got to know each other. And the sex would be one hell of a bonus.
With my ankle throbbing less, he let me walk on my own as we exited his house hand in hand.
“Where does your perimeter end?”
He pointed to a tree with a carving in it.
I blinked a few times to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. “Is that a middle finger carved into the trunk?”
Zane shook his head fondly. “Lucie thinks he’s funny.”
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to find out personally, so I’d take his word for it.
I tried pulling Zane toward the boundary, but he had to be nearly double my weight. Instead, I moved to face him.
“If this doesn’t work, we’ll keep trying. Okay? And if there’s no way to fix it, I’ll still visit.” I playfully gripped his dick over his jeans. “A lot.”
I appreciated his smile, but his eyes had already lost their golden glow, and his skin was paler than it had been mere hours ago. How often did he need to feed? I’d volunteer whenever he needed it or wanted it.
I pulled him in for a kiss, sweeping my tongue into his mouth, and took a step back. He chased my lips. I took another step. Luring him to the boundary.
Zane gripped the backs of my thighs and lifted me. When my groin pressed into his, I forgot why we were outside. His thick lips slotted against mine perfectly.
