“NOW!” she ordered. Something in her voice convinced him, and Crow cut the rope. Angel stood. “Razor knows where the clubhouse is.”

“Yes,” he said.

“He knows about Ghost and Hammer,” she concluded.

“Yes,” he whispered.

“And you left them there,” she said, sounding as though she was accusing him of wrongdoing.

“They can handle themselves,” he insisted.

“You don't know that!” she insisted.

“They're Toxic Monsters,” he reminded.

“That doesn't make them bulletproof!” she spat.

Angel grabbed Crow's jacket. “We need to go back.”

“No, we can't,” he said.

“Why the fuck can’t we?” she asked.

“Because Razor expects you to go back to the clubhouse for them,” he said.

She released him. “What?”

“He knows you, Lina. He knows that you’ll go back for Ghost and Hammer,” he said.

“He hasn't seen me in seven years,” she reminded.

“He knows Viper's daughter well enough to know what her next move would be,” he said. Crow walked toward the barn doors. “He knows you'll run back to protect the people you care about.”

Angel followed. “What are you saying?”

“He wants you to go back,” Crow said.

“Why?” she asked.

Crow turned. “Because this was never about killing you.”

Angel stopped. “What?”

“If Razor only wanted you dead, you'd have been dead years ago,” he said.

“Then what does he want?” she asked.

“The same thing he's always wanted,” Crow said.

“The ledger,” she guessed.

Crow nodded. “He thinks you can find it.”

“I can't,” she insisted. “I don't even understand Dad's clue.”

“You will,” he assured.

“How do you know that?” she asked.
