Grayson returns, and I cut him a slice. He has just taken a bite when the door to Bruce’s office opens, and he comes out with a brunette with big boobs that look like they are about to spill out of her tight beige dress, heavy makeup, and four-inch red heels.

“Alright, Bruce. I’ll be expecting the boys tomorrow. Though, I would prefer that you come with them,” she says, touching his face and running her index finger on his chest.

My gaze locks with his as jealousy fills my veins. “Oh my, that smells good. What is it?” the lady says.

“The best cake I’ve ever tasted. Lexi brought it for boss and me,” Grayson says, taking another bite.

“That’s very sweet of her. Well, Bruce, I better get going, and hope to see you tomorrow,” she says.

“Ice will see you out, Debbie, and I won’t be there tomorrow,” he answers without taking his eyes off me.

Ice is quick to walk the lady out.

Bruce grabs the wrapped cake and my hand. We head into his office, and he slams the door.

He sets the cake down and turns to me with a scowl. “You gave my cake to Grayson,” he asks in a deep, challenging tone.

“I made it with Dr. Pierre and thought you might like some, but you were busy with Ms. Big Boobs, so I offered Grayson some. It’s not like you are going to eat the whole cake alone.” I can’t help but let out a bit of my catty emotions.

He edges closer, and I instinctively step back, my back pressing against the door as he leans closer to my ears. “Never ever give what’s mine to another man.” His voice, like hushed thunder, vibrates in my being.

His lips are on mine in seconds. My heart thumps with the aggression of him claiming my mouth, a wild rhythm echoing the intensity of his kiss. I feel his dick pushing against me. He pulls back from me, taking more steps back. We are back in that moment where tension and desire swirl between us, but we hold back rather than give in.

“Debbie is a client that talks too much and gets too friendly. I’ve never had anything beyond business with her, and that will never change.”

Not sure why he’s telling me, but I nod, and I find myself happy about that. He picks up the cake.

“Did you make this?”

“Yes, Dr. Pierre and I did. She loves to bake.”

I take a seat and notice more pieces have been added to my puzzle.

“Someone has been working on my puzzle,” I state, a hint of surprise in my voice.

“I have,” he says, and my smile widens as I start adding more puzzle pieces. “It helps me think of you.”

He walks to the drawer near the refrigerator in his office, retrieves a plate and cutlery. With a decisive cut, he takes a bite of the cake, enjoying its rich flavor.

“This is good, I like it,” he says.

“Good, her lemon cakes are the best.”

He nods and keeps eating, and I work on the puzzle. It doesn’t take long for Grayson to burst in.

“Your next appointment is on his way up.” He nods to Grayson.

I get up. “I should get going and will see you at home. Should I take the cake home?” Why do I keep calling it home? I guess for now it’s home. With him beside me, it’s not just a place of refuge.

“Yes, and Ice is not allowed to have some,” he says, and I chuckle.

“Dr. Pierre baked two. She gave Ice one for being my bodyguard.”

“Okay, take mine home, and I’ll see you soon.”

I move towards the door, and he grabs my hand.

“I’m glad you stopped by,” he says, making me smile.
