I brace my feet down to tell myself to not move.
He moves another step, coming right in front of me.
His frame was terrifying.
Inside, I was scared shitless.
I knew I was shaking, and the adrenaline was taking over me.
“You found me.” I say, hoping my voice didn’t shake.
His head straightens.
Waiting.
Nothing.
Neither of us moved.
“You want me to run?”
His mask gives nothing away.
I glance behind me at dark opening leading deeper into the hallway.
I could.
Instead, I looked back at him.
I shake my head no.
Silence.
I lifted my chin, even though my pulse was beating hard enough to make me dizzy.
He his tilts down to my hand.
I raise it up as I stare at the stamp.
“I know.”
I know what this means.
He can touch me.
Grab me.
Whatever.
I just want to see how far he can go.
Does that make me sick?
Maybe.
His hand raises.
My stomach tightens.
