I was dating their son for almost a year.
Well, the wrong one.
And now, I was about to date their other son.
But, I went back home and then he ended up moving down with me.
He always said they are really busy and that we would meet eventually.
“See, I told you nice officers that she was in safe hands.” A lovely voice said as we started walking through the crowd of actors and others.
The voice was like honey and maple syrup on a fall day.
But, why did that voice sound so familiar?
I kept walking.
“Raven, come here dear.”
She knew my name….
What the hell…
And then, my mind catches up to why I knew that voice.
It was a voice that I’ve heard a lot when I’ve came to visit.
No fucking way.
I finally make it to the center.
There she was.
Dark hair with a sliver of silver in the front.
But instead of her normal cardigan and pants, she was wearing a sort of ringmaster costume.
“Lindy?”
My amazing, sweet owner of Between the Pages bookstore.
This was Sullivan and Sebastian’s mom?
And the owner of the carnival?
“Yes, dear.”
I looked up at Sullivan.
“We definitely need to talk.”
THIRTY ONE
One week later……
Flesh on flesh.
The sound of pants fill the room.
