Nothing.
“Right in the middle of the carnival.”
His head tilted again.
I frowned.
He took another step.
I backed away.
“Don’t look confused.”
Another step.
I backed against the tree.
“You chased her.”
He gets even closer until he was the only one moving since I could no longer.
“You caught her.”
Another step.
He was right in front of me.
Emotions took over my body as I stared up at him.
Tall.
Dark.
Delicious.
Strong.
“You caught her.”
Silence.
“And you-”
His head tilted again.
My chest heaved as I tried to breathe properly at having him so close to me after a whole year.
I wanted so badly to run my hands up and down his black clothing and mesh my lips to his again.
To feel that feeling again.
“Why aren’t you back out there with her, huh?”
His masked face was obviously stoic, and I wish I could just unmask him to see any sort of expression on his face.
The bone mask was disturbing, especially in the darkness that was the woods.
Looking up, I wait for something. Anything.
