"Shh, Arabella, I will take care of you," he whispers before calm smashes over me.
My body feels like it is sinking into the mattress as the weight becomes heavier.
"I'll kill him this time, but first, I will remove his mark," Latham snarls.
Blaine moves beside me, staring at Latham angrily. Xavier brushes a piece of hair from between my lips.
"Don't fear him. He doesn't want your fear, Bella. Just remember it's Latham."
"I need to move," I whisper, finding my voice. It feels like being trapped on that bed back home, paralyzed by the monster haunting me.
"You won't run."
"Please, I won't stop you. Just let me have my body back," I plead, and I feel my tears slide down my face into my hairline.
Latham bites his lip. "You don't run. I know you want to, but don't run. You won't want me hunting you."
"I won't run," I whisper, and he sits back on his heels, and I feel the weight lift.
I rush upright, and Latham growls, and my eyes flick to him. His hand moves at blinding speed. I grab it with both of mine before he can shove me back down. My heart rate slows as I start to feel like myself again and feel my own body. I hate not being able to feel. I would prefer the pain than feel defenseless.
I bring his hand to my lips and kiss his knuckles, making sure not to move too quickly so he doesn't think I would make a break for it. He lets out a breath, and I pull my legs from under his before getting on my knees. Latham remains still, but I see him glance at Blaine before looking at me. He smirks.
"You want to control the monster?" he growls.
"Not a monster, my monster," I tell him, sucking in a shaky breath.
A rumbling noise between a growl and purr emanates from his chest. I can't help flinching when he moves too quickly toward me, but he moves beside me as Xavier gets out of his way to lean against the headboard.
"Then I'm all yours," he purrs.
I bite the inside of my lip before glancing at Xavier, whose lips tug in the corners.
Chapter Forty-Four
"I have only been asking for years, and you let her the first time she asks," Blaine pouts.
"She's prettier," Latham taunts, and I let go of his hand.
"Come on, Arabella. Or the grim reaper is coming for you." Latham smiles, his sharp teeth glinting back at me.
How many people can say they fucked the grim reaper and got to live after it? My random thought makes me chuckle, and Latham raises an eyebrow at me.
"Not many," he answers before holding his hands out to me.
I haven’t realized how badly they are trembling until I place mine in his and let him pull me onto his lap, so I straddle him.
His hands move to my hips, and I can feel his rock-hard length beneath me. I place my hands on his chest, adjusting my hips.
"It will hurt more, Arabella. Are you sure you wouldn't rather?"
I shake my head before he can finish, my heart rate quickening, making me wonder if I am making a mistake. But I am more petrified at the thought of not being able to fight him off. Not that I could, but knowing I could try is better than having no ability.
“They won’t let me kill you,” Latham answers, and I nod.
I look down; handprints mar my skin. Blaine's on my stomach and left breast; Xavier’s on my thigh. Latham grips the back of my neck, dragging me closer, and I feel his cock slide between my folds. I shiver. His lips crash against mine hungrily. My nails dig into his chest as I lean into him, kissing him back. His hand slides to the side of my neck, cupping it.
Xavier kisses my shoulder, and I feel his hand move down my back to my ass before moving between Latham and me. I lift my hips, refusing to break the kiss, while Xavier positions Latham's head at my entrance.
