Doc reaches beneath the bar.

I don't need to see what he grabs.

I already know.

My eyes go to the windows.

Main Street.

Vehicles.

Rooftops.

Reflections.

Entrances.

Exits.

Threats.

Four days ago, I came to Eagle River to solve my best friend's murder.

Now his wife is standing ten feet away from me covered in blood.

His daughter is scared.

I look down at the envelope in my hand.

“Did anyone follow you?”

I turn to Doc.

“Call the others.”
