"Good, because that's all I want too."

Beck leans down, kissing me on the lips. I lose myself to kiss, opening my mouth and tangling my tongue with his. It might have been a wild ride to get to this point: hookups, ghosting, and more hookups. But I wouldn't change our story for the world. I'm so excited to see where my future with Beck leads.

Epilogue

BECK

Five Years Later

“Oh my god, this is freaking heavy,” Talon grunts, trying to help me maneuver our new mattress onto our bed frame.

This is the last thing we have to finish until we’re completely settled into our new house. It’s a wild feeling, knowing that Talon and I officially have a place of our own. It may have taken a few years, but I’m so damn excited to be here. After graduating from Creepin U a few years ago, Talon and I moved in with a few friends into a shared apartment, while we all tried to get our footing underneath us. We figured it was easier to live with roommates and not have to worry about struggling or paying bills. It was honestly so worth it. It gave us time to save and work on what we wanted for the future. While we still haven’t been able to buy our own home, renting a house just the two of us feels like the perfect next step. Plus, it’ll be nice to have a lot of private time.

“Do you remember the day you found out about the switched mattresses?” I ask, remembering that day so clearly. It took him sleeping in my bed for a few months before he realized I had caught onto his little scheme and had swapped our beds so that I had the softer one again.

He drops the mattress down onto the frame, placing his hands on his hips. “Oh my god,” he wheezes, laughing loudly. “I can’t believe I forgot about that. I was so pissed when I found out the reason my back was killing me was that you switched them again.”

“I tried to get you to sleep in my bed, but you kept insisting that we stay in yours. If only you weren’t so damn stubborn,” I shake my head, thinking back to when Talon would only let us sleep in his bed. And at that time the two of us were so damn inseparable that I never had time to switch the mattresses back. But after both of our backs killed us, I came clean and told him the reason the bed sucked for both of us.

“Well, luckily for both of us, we tested out this one and it was perfect. Neither of us will have to worry about bad backs.”

“Actually, that’s not true,” I say, walking over to him and wrapping my arms around his waist. “I plan to break your back tonight when I fuck you hard into the mattress.”

“Or,” he says, spinning us around and shoving me up against the hard wall. “Maybe I’ll do the same to you when I fuck you into the mattress,” he purrs, biting the lobe of my ear. “Or better yet, we can take turns fucking each other. In every room of the house.”

“Fuck,” I moan, adjusting myself in my shorts. “How is it that you can turn me on so damn easily?”

“It’s a gift,” he smiles, rubbing my dick before backing away. “But we can worry about that later tonight. I want to get the room finished.”

“Talon,” I groan, pushing on my aching cock. “I need you to touch me, baby.”

“I promise, I’ll take care of you tonight. Now come on, help me put on the sheets.”

“So bossy,” I mumble, taking a deep breath before heading over to the mattress. “I don’t know what’s so damn exciting about putting the sheets on the bed. I’d rather be taking them off, if you know what I mean.”

Talon laughs loudly, “That doesn’t even make sense, Beck. I think all the blood in your head has gone to your dick.”

“Then you should take care of it,” I waggle my eyebrows. “Come on, baby, please,” I beg, hoping Talon will take pity on me and put me out of my misery.

“After you make the bed.”

“Fine,” I huff, taking hold of the corner of the sheet and trying to shove it onto the mattress. “All I want is to get my hands on my boyfriend, but he doesn’t want to put his hands on me,” I grumble, cracking a small smile when Talon giggles.

“Such a crybaby,” he mumbles, clutching the sheet and placing it on the corner of the bed. “Hey, can you grab that pillowcase on the floor? I want to put it on the pillow for this side of the bed.”

“Sure,” I tell him, grabbing the cushion cover. The bottom of the material drags, a hard piece hitting me in the ankle. “What the fuck?” I whisper, whipping the case up, realizing that there’s something contained in it. Reaching my hand inside, I grab hold of the small square box that’s hiding inside. “What is this?”

“Beckett,” Talon whispers, saying my full name. “I thought of a million ways I wanted to do this, and I kept changing my mind, telling myself that it wasn’t good enough. So, I was sitting with that hidden for the past month trying to figure out how exactly I wanted to do this.”

I gaze at the small black box in my hand, knowing what it is, but my brain is not computing what it means for us. My grip is shaking, trying to flip open the top to see exactly what’s inside. I’m not able to say a word, my mouth opening and closing as my eyes stare at the palm of my hand.

“So, then I thought maybe I would wait until our first night in our new place,” he continues, ignoring my frozen state. “But as we’ve been working on getting everything set up, I really don’t want to wait much longer.” He grabs my other hand, squeezing it tightly. “Beck,” he whispers, my eyes finally dragging up to look at him. “Since the moment I met you, I knew there was something special about you. Even at the beginning of us, I felt there was something different about you. And as much as I tried, I couldn’t stay away. And I’m so damn thankful I didn’t.”

“Me too,” I finally choke out, tears swimming in my eyes. “Fuck, I’m so damn glad we found our way to each other. Is this what I think it is? Or is it a bracelet? I wouldn’t mind a bracelet, but I also don’t want to get my hopes up that it’s something else. Ya know, just in case it’s not what I think it is, and it’s actually just a bracelet. Or a necklace, I guess.”

“Beck,” Talon sighs, shaking his head. “Let me talk, baby.”

“Okay.”
