"That can be arranged."

Encircling my fin with his body, we kiss one another, our kiss turning to fire. Pulling away, we're both breathing heavily, our chests rising and falling together. "Wanna come over to my dorm room? My roommate isn't here yet." he asks, his hands not leaving my form.

"Yes," I breathe, retreating and wanting to head to the shore as soon as possible.

Beck grabs my hand, leading me out of the water. After shifting back to my human legs, we both jump into our clothes, laughing as we walk again through the crowds of people, only this time we're leaving the bonfire. The trek to his dorm isn't long, but sadly it's in a different dorm than mine. For a fleeting second, thoughts flashed through my mind about how easy it would be to see one another if we were living in the same building. But as quickly as they appear, I douse them. Who knows if I'll even meet Beck again after tonight.

He opens the door to his room, letting me enter it first. One side of the room features a twin-size mattress against the wall. The opposite part of the area is completely empty, not a single small bag of clothes.

"When are you expecting your roommate to show up?" I ask, taking a seat on his bed.

"I'm not sure. I thought they would have moved in by now, but each day I wait excitedly for someone to move in. Hell, maybe I'll get lucky and I'll end up having the entire room to myself."

"That would be amazing. Having a roommate sucks. Luckily, the person I shared a room with last year and I decided to room together again this year, so at least I know who I'm going to be living with. He's messy as hell, but it's better than the unknown of who you're going to live with." His eyes widen and I chuckle rushing out, "not that I'm trying to freak you out or anything."

"Well damn. Let's hope I don't get an asshole for a roommate then. However," he walks across the room and sits next to me, "I have to say, I'm thankful that whoever it is, is taking their sweet time getting here. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to have any privacy."

"Oh, I do like that." I purr, leaning into his space.

Beck grabs hold of my chin, turning my head to face him. "I'm going to kiss you again. Stop me if you don't want it."

Like hell I plan to stop him.

Our kiss starts off light and sweet, but quickly becomes fire and dirty. His huge hands grip my waist as he pulls me onto his lap. My fingers sift through the hairs at the nape of his neck as his grasp holds me in place on his growing erection. Grinding down, I moan loudly as Beck kisses up the side of my throat. God, he feels amazing.

"Fuck, the things I want to do to you," he groans, his fingers reaching under my shirt and rubbing against my back.

"Do it then," I gasp, as his other hand comes out and flicks open the button to my jeans.

"Stay the night," he heaves out, his gaze locked on mine. "Please."

Nodding my head, I eagerly say, "Okay."

There’s no way I’m planning to leave him tonight.

BECK

One Year Later

Creelin University.

God, it’s good to be back. Usually, ‌summer is my time to shine. Go out to the beach, swim in the water, chill out in the sand, do everything I can to relax before returning to school. But this summer was different. My dad lost his job, and while I have a scholarship to Creelin U for baseball, it doesn’t cover all expenses. Which means I needed to spend my summer working.

Getting the job was easy, saving up money was hard as fuck. So my summer of partying ended up being my time of working. Thankfully, I was able to save up some funds to last me for the first term of school, but now I have to find employment at the university that will not only pay me enough for the next semester but also work with my schedule. I tried to sign up for all the morning classes, but that is likely to be the best decision I've ever made—or the worst. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I take my time walking down the cobblestone streets to my dorm. My body sags as disappointment hits again. It's my senior year of college, and I thought for sure that I was going to be living off campus in an apartment with my best friends. But destiny sent a giant fuck you and I can't afford that so I had to sign up for college housing once more. Which meant I have to room with whoever is left. So yeah, I'm easing over there because the way my life is going, I'll likely end up in the worst dorm at Creelin U, with a roommate who probably hates me.

Shaking my head, I roll my eyes. No one hates me at CU. I might not be the biggest guy on campus, but I do have a lot of friends. My suitcase bumps against one of the stones on the ground, and I straighten it out before lifting my gaze and taking a look at the grounds in front of me.

Creelin University is gorgeous. It's huge with ivory-colored walls, but my favorite part of the structure is hands down the gargoyles that stand guard. There's a rumor that some are alive, but as a human, I can't tell which.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention I'm ‌human? Some think it's weird that humans are attending "Creepin U," but the second I saw they were opening their doors to humans, I immediately applied. Last year was my first year here. Initially, the monsters shocked me, but they soon became my friends, and I stopped noticing their monster features. I just saw them–who they were as a person.

Last year I spent so much of my attention focused on baseball that outside of my teammates, I barely interacted with anyone at all. Teal eyes flash in my mind, and I shake my head, ridding my thoughts of the gorgeous man with teal eyes and teal hair. I didn't have the chance last year to do a lot, and this year seems as though it will be far worse. Having to add work to my schedule will be hard as hell, but I know I can do it. I'm going to ‌go to class, study, and work. And hopefully party a few days too. I was lucky that my coach took pity on me and what I was going through. I drove up for practice the past couple weeks, but I wasn’t required to stay on campus like most of the team.
