“You ruined my story.”
He leans in close, lowering his voice. “I’ll make it up to you.”
And unfortunately, that’s all he needs to say to make my anger melt away.
Chapter Seventeen
Connor
As promised, I make up to Étienne in the form of fucking him so good that he comes twice. I’m starting to feel bad for the staff who clean this room. There have been dirty sheets every night. They must think I’m some kind of animal.
Whatever. We were told they all have to sign NDAs so they can’t say anything about what they find. Though I did hear that a staff member found one of those suction dildos on someone’s shower wall the other day when they were cleaning the room. I didn’t hear who it was, only that it wasn’t a female.
Not a big deal to me, but it must’ve been a big deal to them if people are gossiping about it. Meaning it must be someone who isn’t “supposed to be gay,” which is an absolutely ridiculous notion to have about anyone.
Makes me think it’s another hockey player, though. I wouldn’t be surprised. Gay guys can be hockey players, too. That’s totally fine and cool in my book. You should always be who you are, regardless of what you do on the outside. Your career doesn’t make you who you are.
“I don’t know how you do that,” Étienne mutters.
“Magic.”
He groans. “You’re so not funny.”
“I wasn’t trying to be.”
He sneaks a look at me, and I smile.
“Did you have plans?” I ask.
“Why, you want to have a sleepover?”
“I wouldn’t be opposed to it, though you’d have to be prepared to wake up in the middle of the night with my cock in your ass.”
“Don’t tease me.”
I chuckle again. “I have something for us to do.”
His eyes widen. “You made plans for us?”
“You make it sound so… official.”
“And that’s bad?” he asks.
“I don’t know… is it?”
He’s silent for a moment as he thinks it over. “I don’t know either.”
We stare at each other before we both start to laugh. The serious conversation is forgotten, and we get up, clean up, and get dressed.
“Where are we going? It’s late and cold,” he complains as he picks up his jacket from my floor.
“Hold on,” I say, putting my hand on his arm so he can’t put the coat on. “Here.”
I toss him one of my Diamonds sweatshirts.
“What am I supposed to do with this? Use it as a blanket?”
I give him the middle finger, and he leans forward to lick it, but I pull it away just in time.
