“In that color, I think tonight could be the night the four of us share you,” Koen breathes, resting his hand on the small of my back and pulling my gaze to the soft smile he’s been wearing more frequently.

Goosebumps scatter over my skin from the thought, heat creeping up my neck until it blooms across my cheeks. It’s a bit daunting imagining myself with the four of them, but I know they would be patient with me.

My eyes move back to Pryce on their own accord, and I catch him staring at me with longing, but also something else I can’t quite place.

“Is everything okay?”

He smiles sheepishly. “Of course. I just…I was expecting you to show up in something else.” His admission causes my face to fall instantly. I knew it was from him. I didn’t know, know but I knew.

“Shit, I’m sorry, I—”

He pulls me closer. “You have nothing to apologize for. Like I said, you look amazing, tesoro. Green suits you just as well.” His lips touch mine, but only for a moment.

The song changes and Pryce takes a small step back and holds out a hand. “Can I have your first dance?” I smile bashfully, placing my hand in his before he whisks me off into the middle of the dance floor.

The guys each take turns dancing with me. Pryce was first, reassuring me that he wasn’t upset by my dress choice; in fact, he insinuated that he can’t wait to see it on Elias’s floor later tonight. Bastian, on the other hand, was less reserved about telling me all the compromising positions he wishes to have me in later.

I couldn’t stop the images from flashing in my head, and I fear it just made him more restless. I’ve never had more than one of them at once, but I won’t pretend the thought doesn’t excite me.

Elias took over next, looking absolutely dashing in his suit. Though the tie didn’t last long—or a few of his top buttons for that matter—he made the look seem effortless and purposeful. He guided me around the dance floor as though he’s done it thousands of times, insisting I wasn’t stepping on his feet, but we both know he was just trying to make me feel better.

By the time I get to Koen, I feel completely spent. “I’ve never danced like this,” I admit, trying to catch my breath but also trying not to sound like I’m dying. Dancing is hard, even if the guys are doing most of the work.

“It seems we should’ve weaved dance lessons into our schedule,” he muses, his rich dark brown eyes piercing into my icy blues.

I slap him playfully on the arm. “I’m not that bad.”

“I’m afraid you have two left feet, love.” His smile is contagious, and I can’t deny it.

“Thank you.” His brows pinch together. “Not for the two left feet comment, but for the dress.”

He looks me up and down. “This dress?”

“Yeah?”

“I’m sorry, as much as I would love to take credit for this masterpiece, it wasn’t me.” But it has to be him. Obviously, it wasn’t Pryce, and none of the other guys said it was them either.

“But if it wasn’t one of you, who could it have bee—” As the question passes through my lips, the answer hits me like a ton of fucking bricks. “No. There’s no way.” I back out of Koen’s hold, trying to wrap my head around this fucking detonation. “Where is he?”

“Who are you talking about?”

“Eryx. Where is he?”

Koen takes a step closer, but I keep the distance the same. “Never mind.” There’s only one place on campus he would be, somewhere everyone thinks I wouldn’t dare step foot. “Don’t bother following, I’ll be fine.”

I rush through the crowd, faintly catching Koen telling the others what’s going on. I’m thankful he tells them I have this under control. Because I do. I’ve come a long way from the girl Eryx preyed on earlier in the year, and I’m so fucking tired of his mind games.

The campus is a blur as I make my way to Vesperian Hall. I’m running on so much adrenaline, it feels like I’m moving with my own vampire speed. One second I’m pulling the building door open, and the next, I’m in the west wing, pulling the book out of the case to open the secret passage to the archives.

Sconces light the path to the archives, my footsteps pounding against the ground as fury storms inside my veins. “Eryx!” His name echoes throughout the tunnel, bouncing back at me until it finally gives way as I enter the room. “I know you’re in here.”

I scour the walls for a break in the ancient foundation, a seam that would tell me where he’s hiding. The place he was the night Elias and I were together—it’s where he lurks. I pull countless books from their shelves, uncaring as the leather hits the ground, searching for another hidden mechanism to reveal the illusive room. What could he possibly be doing in there anyway?

I stop in my tracks.

What if it’s like…a sex room.

The thought makes me shutter.
