“He just doesn’t put up with your bullshit. Deal with it,” Jace said. “Now take your woman to bed.”

Noah laughed. “Come on, Mama Wolf.” He pulled her to her feet. “We have to learn to do what our alpha says.”

“Fine,” Mina grumbled. “But you’re not getting any tonight. I’m so tired my lady parts even fell asleep.”

Noah kissed her, then picked Brock up and took them into the bedroom.

Tank had donated his room again, and Noah tucked Brock into one side of the big bed. Mina kissed the little boy, then straightened up and looked down at him, her hand on his head.

“I came so close to losing him,” she whispered. Tears rolled down her face, and Noah hugged her to him.

“But you didn’t,” he said. “Against the odds, we’re all safe. The people we care about are safe. After everything you’ve been through, the good guys finally won.”

She tried to smile, but she still looked sad.

Noah pulled her to his chest and wrapped his arms around her waist. “What are you feeling? Tell me,” he said.

She shook her head. “It’s about Justin,” she said. “You don’t want to hear that.”

His heart still clenched a little, hearing about her lost love, but he would never let her know that. “Tell me,” he repeated.

Mina said, “The last thing Justin asked me to do was to save his pack. I told him I would, but I couldn’t. They were already dead.”

She took in a deep, shuddering breath. “I know Tristan said we might still find some of the white wolves. If he survived, maybe the others could too. But I always hoped I could find Justin’s wolves and bring them back home, and now I know that will probably never happen.”

“Maybe not,” Noah said, his heart breaking for her. “Maybe we’ll never find them, But even if we don’t, you still kept your promise.”

Mina leaned her head back against his shoulder. “What do you mean?”

“Brock,” he said. “He’s Justin’s son, the last of his pack, and you carried him out of Alaska inside you and kept him safe.” He kissed the top of her head. “So in a way, you saved the pack after all.”

She turned around and buried her face in his chest, and he held her while she cried.
