This was it.

She grabbed her drink and, plastering a smile on her face, made her way over to the intimidating foursome.

“Chaya, you came.” Victor took both her hands and held her arms out, taking in her outfit…and the rest of her. Her skin crawled. “You look absolutely stunning.”

Her leather skirt hugged her hips and thighs, and her top was white lace, sheer, showing off the white corset she wore underneath. “Thank you. I wasn’t sure I’d see you here,” she said.

His smile turned to a wicked grin. “A happy coincidence.” He turned to the male beside him. “This is my friend, Ian, and these are his brothers, Ezra and Nolan.”

Brothers?

All eyes were on her now, and they didn’t try and conceal what they were. Three sets of black soulless eyes were trained on her. Goose bumps lifted all over her body and it took everything in her not to take a startled step back.

“Who is this female, Victor?” Ian’s nostrils flared like he was drawing in her scent, which was confirmed when he said, “She smells…exquisite.”

His voice sounded like broken glass, and when he tilted his head to the side she saw a jagged scar circling his throat, as if someone had once sliced it.

“This is the little demi I mentioned, the one who has been terribly neglected,” Victor said. “Isn’t she lovely?”

Ian gave her a head to toe, like a hawk sizing up a rabbit. His brothers were watching her more closely as well, and the dread that moved over her had her frozen to the spot. If these males, demon, were in league with Diemos they’d be trying sense her power, what it was, how strong. Deciding of she was worth keeping for the army Diemos was trying to create here on Earth.

She did her best to keep it blocked from them, but had no idea if she was succeeding.

Yeah, she’d well and truly exposed herself.

“She is a delicious morsel,” he said to Victor, then to her, “Are you here looking for a sub, lovely?”

She froze. Was it that obvious? Did they see something in her that gave it away? She’d only just realized it herself and these demons had her figured out before she fully had herself. “No, I…I’m not a Domme.” Victor thought she was a sub, God, she’d thought she was a sub, and she needed to stick to her story.

Ian stared at her for several long seconds, an odd expression on his face. Shit. He wasn’t buying it. “You’re a sub?”

She nodded.

He glanced at his brothers and chuckled. “Did you hear that, Ezra? She’s a sub.” Ezra’s eyes glittered in response. “Do you belong to anyone, demi?” Ian asked.

Victor’s gaze sharpened on his friend and the tension became unbearably thick.

Chaya forced a laugh, doing her best to pretend that she didn’t feel the pure evil pulsing from them, that she didn’t hear the internal alarm bells blaring, telling her to run like hell in the opposite direction. “I was working on that the other night when I met Victor. Unfortunately, my efforts went unnoticed.” She lowered her eyes, playing coy, playing the part, not sure if she was pulling it off because she’d never been coy a moment in her damned life. “I’m hoping to learn a thing or two here and change his mind.”

The words came easy enough, since there was some truth to it.

“Have you ever belonged to anyone, love?” Ian said, his voice even grittier than before.

She shook her head, finding she was unable to lie, not with all of them watching her so closely.

Ian reached out and it took everything in her to hold her ground when he cupped the side of her face. His touch was cool and sent a feeling of dread through her like nothing she’d ever felt.

“Hmmm, such a rare find. Untried. How delightful.” His head tilted to the side again, like the predator he so obviously was. “I find I am…drawn to you, Chaya.” He glanced at his brothers, and Victor shifted like he was suddenly uncomfortable. “My brothers and I share, in all things, and we like you a lot.” His brothers hadn’t said one word. But they also hadn’t taken their eyes off her. “This other male, you have your heart set on him?”

Chaya nodded, couldn’t make her mouth work if her life depended on it, and right then it very well might.

“That is disappointing. If you find your circumstances change, ask for me here and they’ll make sure I get your message.” Then he turned to leave, his brothers following in his wake. He paused and looked back at Victor, who was still beside Chaya. “Are you coming?”

“I’m going to show Chaya around,” Victor said.

Ian dipped his chin and walked away.

Victor turned to her, his eyes searching hers. “Did he frighten you?”
