“You’ll finish in two seconds,” Killian said. “Last time you had sex was…what? Months ago?”

Callum patted me on the back. “Poor girl won’t even notice it happened.”

“I don’t give a fuck about sex,” I grunted.

“Tell that to your buddy down there.”

I covered my bulge with a groan and barked an order to Greg. He followed it—touchdown.

I huffed. “I just don’t want to fuck this up. I want to do things right…”

“She loves you, man. It’s all over her face,” Killian said.

“But my beast—”

“Lucy won’t hurt her, come on. They had their honeymoon in Scotland. Give it a break and stop finding excuses.”

I lifted my gaze to Bunny Doc’s. One of her delicate brows arched, likely wondering what had upset me. Oh, if only she knew.

I clenched my jaw, remembering how her perfect curves had felt around me, her heartbeat racing underneath my palm as she looked at me with those eyes of hers. Moon Goddess, I want to see her staring up at me like that with my cock stuffed in her pretty little—

I growled under my breath, cursing my horny self, and sprinted away to release some energy and win today.

The game got rougher, the crowd more aggressive, and I even sliced my foot on some broken glass. When Callum scored his second touchdown, all I saw was Yvaine standing in the bleachers. I wanted her cheering; instead, her arms were folded tightly over her chest and she was looking at me with worry.

Fuck.

I huffed, a hand dusting over the bite on my arm. One of the mad wolves that caused disruption during the game, a Jester, had gotten me.

Bunny Doc didn’t care that the Jester was now limping while I got just a graze from it. No, she gasped like I’d been gutted, making me feel guilty for letting myself be bitten.

Funny thing was…I kind of liked being fussed over.

At halftime, when we were supposed to be going into the locker rooms, Killian ran over to the bleachers, calling out Yvaine’s name. I smiled, watching her jog down and hang over the railing to chat with him. I threw the ball to the ref and sprinted to join them.

YVAINE

“Sweet Pea!” Killian waved at me, all bloody and sweaty, grime covering his tattoos.

“Hey there!” I beamed, hurrying down the steps. “Great game!”

“As if you even watched me once!” He wiggled his eyebrows. “Everyone knows you were too busy staring at your mate terminating players.”

Heat climbed into my cheeks, because he was right. Even now, my eyes were still searching for him.

“Oh, by the way…” Killian snickered. “He wants to ask you to spend next weekend away with him.”

My heart swelled. “He does?”

Killian glanced over his shoulder. Logan was currently signing autographs onto some kids’ jerseys. All with the number 8, his number, matching my own jersey. “Don’t say I told you! Just wanted to prepare you.” Then he kissed my cheek and sprinted away.

I wiped off the smudge Killian left behind and waited.

Finally, Logan broke away from the crowd. A second later, I disappeared into a pair of massive arms. “Mmm, couldn’t stop thinking about you the whole game.”

I smiled as my fingers slipped through his damp hair. “You played really well.” While I didn’t want to add any more floors to his ego’s tower, there was no denying it. He was the best, nothing else to say about that. Pride blossomed quietly inside my chest.

“That’s because my lucky charm was here,” he said cheerfully before something shifted. His ears reddened.
