did you know your mom was bi?

KIT:

No lol

KIT:

Although I’m not sure she is, she may just have the hots for Seline in like a one-off way

KIT:

Who am I to assume my mother’s sexuality?

KIT:

Ugh God that is an all-time terrible sentence I wish I hadn’t had cause to type

SAGE:

KIT:

I said I was going to pour boiling oil in my ears and she told me I couldn’t erase the memories like that, which is true, but like. Maybe I should try, you know?

SAGE:

SAGE:

KIT:

SAGE:

SAGE:

KIT:

KIT:

FOURTEEN

To Kit’s surprise, on Thanksgiving Day Sage pulls into his parents’ driveway behind the wheel of a deep blue sports car, with only his mother in the passenger seat. Eleanor is nowhere to be seen, nor are any of the other secondary bodyguards who work under her, covering Sage when she’s unavailable or asleep.

He watches the Porsche pull into the driveway in excited bemusement, noting and then dismissing the surrealism of seeing it next to his brother Justin’s Camry, Kit’s own beaten-up Kia, and Maggie and Mitch’s minivan. He’s gotten good at that. So much of his life is surreal these days that it’s looped around to feeling almost normal.

“Wow.” Justin, who is four years older than Kit in reality and about forty years older in spirit, steps up to the window next to him. “That’s really him.”
