Oxi’s control snapped sooner than he probably wanted it to. “Fuck, snowfire…” He pulled out with a harsh groan, spilling over her stomach, his body trembling from the effort of stopping himself.
Oxi kissed her lips before moving and making way for Luck.
His green and blue eyes were wide and afraid as she looked up at him.
“You don’t have to,” she whispered.
His pupils dilated. “Oh, I want to.”
“Then why do you look terrified?”
“Because I want to do it right.”
Her expression softened, and she reached up and touched his face. “Luck.”
He closed his eyes for half a second, leaning into her palm. “I’ve wanted this for so long.” He shifted her carefully, turning her onto her hands and knees on the cramped bed. I moved with Oxi out of the way, staying close. “Ready, slayer?” Luck asked, voice low as he gripped her hips.
“Yes—” She barely got to breathe before he pushed inside of her, hands clamped on her hips.
His strokes were rougher than Oxi’s, less controlled, driven by two months of wanting her and trying not to. Spencer took him beautifully, fingers twisting in the blanket as her body rocked forward with every thrust. Hard, rough strokes moved her as he fucked her, and I didn’t understand why it didn’t bother me. I liked her. A lot. But her being with them, it didn’t bother me at all. If anything, I liked it.
Oxi watched from beside me, eyes dark, one hand moving lazily over his cock.
I understood.
Spencer cried out, her body tightening as Luck drove her into another orgasm. The sound of it tore through all of us.
Luck cursed, pulled out fast, and finished over her lower back with a broken groan.
For a moment, we were all still and breathing hard. I knew we had crossed a line none of us could uncross.
Then, Spencer laughed softly. It was breathless and disbelieving and a little shaky. “That was…”
“Amazing,” Oxi supplied.
“Amazing?” Luck collapsed sideways onto the bed, one arm over his eyes. “That sounds too underwhelming. I think I saw God.”
Oxi snorted. “You’re so dramatic.”
“I am so accurate.”
I got up before the cold could settle too deeply into her skin. My legs were unsteady, but I pulled on my boxers and disappeared downstairs to get a wet cloth from the supplies we’d unpacked near the bathroom.
Reality waited for me at the bottom of the stairs with blood on the floor and rot in the air. The station was dark below, and the bodies were still there. But I got the cloth, breathing through the crash of everything I’d been avoiding. My old group was dead. Keith might be alive. Spencer had just let us touch her, hold her, and have her completely. And I wanted to keep her. I wanted to keep her even if Keith walked through the door tomorrow.
I went back upstairs before I could sink too far into it. Spencer was lying on the bed, half-covered by a blanket, her eyes soft and tired. Oxi sat beside her, rubbing slow circles against her thigh. Luck had recovered enough to sit up, though he still looked dazed.
I cleaned her stomach, back, and thighs gently. Everywhere we’d left evidence of wanting her. When she was clean, I wiped myself off, tossed the cloth aside, and climbed back into the single bed with them.
It was ridiculous. Four adults did not fit in one single bed. Not comfortably. Oxi ended up half on top of me. Luck’s knee dug into my shin. Spencer was tucked in the middle of us, wrapped in blankets, skin warm against ours. Body heat mattered and none of us wanted space anyway, so it was okay.
The wind pressed against the firehouse. Somewhere below us, the dead remained dead.
We couldn’t remain here for long, not with the undead corpses inside with us. But for tonight…Spencer’s fingers rested against my chest, right over my heartbeat.
“Maybe my love life isn’t as dead as I thought,” she whispered softly.
Luck made a quiet chuckle. “Definitely not.”
