“Good, can you text me when you get home just in case?” he asked, leaning down to look at me.

“I will, don’t worry,” I said, before he closed my door.

He waved as I started my car. My lovely Beetle was in rough shape, but she was my first car, and I didn’t have the heart to give her up. Plus, who wanted a five-hundred-dollar car payment?

I turned on the heater; the car made a worrisome noise before it kicked on. Putting the car in drive, I slowly left the parking lot, keeping my eyes open for anything suspicious as I sang that jingle, “Don’t be suspicious, don’t be suspicious.” Everything was normal until I heard the motorcycle get closer.

Dillon didn’t seem like a man who would own a motorcycle. He seemed like a man who was trying to prove how wealthy he was by buying some gaudy car that everyone knew wasn’t that expensive. Just thinking about him made my mood sour.

Going home through the back roads, I heard the motorcycle again. Excitement rushed through me as I thought that maybe my man was back. I was an idiot for thinking this—and because of this, I knew I would always be the first one to die in a scary movie—but I had already let him in, so what’s a little more fun.

I picked up food from a drive-thru, ordering more than I should have because a girl might have a guest, and I didn’t want to be rude and not get him anything. I might be stupid, but I had some manners for Goddess sake.

Just as I was leaving the drive-thru, I heard the rumble of the motorcycle again. I slowed enough that the motorcyclist passed me. He was wearing a helmet of course, but the slight peek of a tattoo on his neck made me excited. It might have been him, except why the hell was he passing me? The motorcyclist revved their engine, taking off in front of me.

Well, shit. Maybe it wasn’t him, except he knew my address. Another wave of excitement rushed through me and I hurried home. I parked in my normal spot deciding to see if the motorcycle was out front, hesitating, because what if this was Dillon? I shook my head, going with my instincts, pulling out my pepper spray, just in case. My moment of insanity wasn’t going to get me killed…at least I hoped not.

My mystery man wasn’t right in front of my building, but off to the side. He was looking down at his phone like he didn’t have a care in the world, and I crossed the street as stealthily as I could. I wasn’t stealthy because he looked over to me immediately, watching me behind his helmet. I pushed up the visor, relaxing when it wasn’t Dillon, but something felt different about him.

“Instead of staying out here all night and breaking in later, you should just come up,” I said, holding out my bag of takeout. “I’ll leave the door open for you.”

I walked away, hopefully leaving him a little surprised.

When I reached the door that led to the apartment, he still hadn’t followed me. I tried not to be offended, it's not like he could tell me yes, but he didn’t nod either. Fuck, this was really fucking stupid on my part.

My apartment was quiet as I walked in, shutting the door, leaving it unlocked. He had twenty minutes to decide and then I was locking it, not like that would stop him from coming in. Maybe I needed a better lock.

Putting the food on the island, I gave some love to Merlin. Maleficent glared at me from her perch on the window.

“Hi to you too, little shit,” I said, walking into my room to change.

I took everything off wondering if putting on my robe without anything else on was the way to go, but I decided a cute matching tank and shorts set was better. It didn’t scream ‘fuck me’ even though I wasn’t putting that off the table. My body shivered, remembering the way he had eaten my pussy. He had such a talented mouth, and that tongue piercing was everything I imagined it to be.

What would it be like to kiss him? What would it be like if we fucked? Was his cock pierced?

My imagination went off the deep end imagining things I really shouldn’t have. This carelessness was just asking for me to be hurt. My tarot deck on my nightstand called to me.

“Am I an idiot for inviting him up?” I asked my cards, as I shuffled them, one card popping out.

I flipped the card; the moon staring back at me. That was a big no.

“Should I continue with whatever is going on?” I asked, shuffling when another card popped out of the deck.

The magician stared back at me. It was a yes. Fuck, it was the biggest yes my deck could have given me. Sighing, I went into my little work area, deciding I needed a distraction from this situation I had gotten myself in.

Grabbing a bowl, I put all the ingredients I needed for a banishing spell, thinking I needed to make Dillon go away. I grabbed a jar, cleaning it before I added each ingredient, stating their purpose. I added his name inside the jar, closing it with a lid and grabbing wax to seal it.

A soft meow caught my attention as the door shut with almost no sound. I said my intention as I poured hot wax over the cork. I left the jar on my desk, dusting off my hands taking a deep breath before turning around. He was still by my door with Maleficent in his arms.

“You traitorous bitch,” I said, watching her melt in his arms.

My mystery man still had his helmet on, looking ridiculous as he pet her. I walked to him slowly, like I was afraid I might startle him. He looked up at me, watching me and I hated that I couldn't see him. I had never really gotten a good look at him, something obstructed my view or it was too dark to get a good look. Even my gut told me he was handsome as hell.

“You hungry?” I took a pad and pen out of my drawer, sliding it to him.

“I got some burgers, but there is also a chicken wrap if you need a healthier option,” I said, getting nervous, pulling out the food from the bag.

He set Maleficent down as he tilted his head, looking at the pad and pen, then at me. Did I say something wrong? He unclipped his helmet slowly; the anticipation made me fidget. He had a face cover that only showed his eyes. Slowly he slipped that off too until we were face to face seeing each other. Well, he saw me plenty, but I knew he was good looking and fuck me, he was stunning even with the scowl on his face. I was in trouble and for once I felt ok with it. Something just felt right.
