Brandy focuses on the onion ring in her hand, and the shift in her posture from lighthearted to burdened is swift. We’ve gone too far. We need to take it back to the place she’s comfortable, swamped in pleasure, pinned between us, letting go of real life like it’s a skin she wishes she could shed.
I stand and take her hand, and when she looks up at me with her honey-colored eyes, all open and sweet, I know I’m gone for her.
“Time for your fourth orgasm, sweetness.”
She blinks but then stands, letting the sheet drop from her curvy body, and all the air leaves my lungs in a whoosh. Maybe she’s not model-proportions, but she’s everything I love. Thick in the places I can grab hold of, toned across her stomach, with tight, high breasts tipped with dark nipples that make my mouth water.
“You’re very sure of yourself, cowboy,” she teases.
I kiss the smile from her lips, lifting her easily so her thighs wrap around my hips, and we’re pressed together where it counts.
“I’m good at a few things, Brandy. Riding horses, grilling steaks, playing the guitar on the porch at sundown, and making a woman scream.”
I kiss her neck as Jensen rises, dropping his boxers like they’re on fire.
“All the important things, then.”
She moans as I lower her onto the bed and press my palms flat to the inside of her thighs, opening her like a book.
Jensen pins her wrists again while I worship her body with my mouth. As I take her apart, reminding her how good it can be between us, he whispers praise against her lips. “So good for us, baby. Taking him so beautifully. We could do this every night if you let us.”
She comes with our names tangled together on her tongue.
Later, after we’ve taken her apart again and put her back together with gentle hands and soft words, she curls up between us once more, sleepy and sated.
I stroke her back and press a kiss to her shoulder. “This doesn’t have to be one night, Brandy.”
She stills but doesn’t reply. Even if the prospect interested her, she’s got the weight of her world tipping the scale on the other side.
Jensen kisses her forehead. “Why let a good thing go?”
“My life is busy,” she says. “I have too many people relying on me to be selfish.”
“I know.” I let my fingers drift down her arm, then slide them between hers and hold her hand. “But wanting something good for yourself isn’t selfish, Brandy. It’s the only thing that keeps us going when life is hard.”
She shakes her head, and I know that nothing we can say right now can change her mind. We have to keep showing up. Maybe try to prove we can carry some of the weight. Keep her soft, safe, and wanted.
Because this isn’t enough.
Not for me.
And not for Jensen, either.
We want more from Brandy. We want it all.
Chapter 10
Brandy
I wince with every step down the long hallway of Rockwell Ridge Care Home. My thighs and core burn in the most indecent way; a deep, delicious ache that flares every time I shift my weight. There are faint bruises on my hips where strong hands held me open, and a tender spot on my neck that my high collar only barely hides. Even my lips are slightly swollen.
I’m sore everywhere. And still, my body hums with leftover pleasure.
“Brandy Carter!”
Annie’s voice rings out like a siren as she power-walks toward me from the nurses’ station, her bright pink scrubs doing nothing to hide her excitement. She hooks her arm through mine and practically drags me into the empty staff break room, kicking the door shut behind us.
“Spill. Right now.” She plants her hands on her hips, eyes sparkling. “I covered your morning rounds, so you owe me every filthy, delicious detail about those two cowboys who basically kidnapped you from my birthday party.”
