He grasped a chunk of her hair in the back and tilted her head up. “That’s not the type of dessert I’m talking about.”

Beth wrapped her arms around his neck and grinned. “I bet I can guess what you want.”

“It’s pretty obvious,” he said and smirked before he lowered his head and took her lips.

He tightened his hold on her hair and then wrapped his other arm around her waist and brought her flush against his chest. The longer the kiss went on, the more frantic they both got.

Roman’s hand slid up and down her torso until he cupped her breast in the palm of his hand.

A moan tore from her throat, and she tried to get closer to him.

He tore his lips away. “Jesus, baby, we have to stop.”

Beth concentrated on pulling air into her lungs but nodded.

He reluctantly pulled his hand away from her breast and then lifted her off his lap.

“I should go,” she said and picked up the rest of the wrappers.

He watched her refuse to look at him. “Look at me.”

She looked up, and he smiled at the blush that covered her face. He cupped her cheeks.

“Why are you embarrassed?”

“I... I don’t do things like that.”

“What? Make out in an office?”

She tried to look away and then sighed when he prevented it. “Yes. I don’t want you to think ... I’m loose.”

He chuckled. “There is nothing on earth you could say or do that would make me think that.”

She searched his eyes and relaxed. “Okay. Good. I know we still have a lot to learn about each other, but please be patient with me. It’s been a long time since I’ve dated.”

“Am I not your usual type of man?”

“I’ve never dated anyone as big or as dominant as you, no.”

“I hope that doesn’t worry you. I know I’m twice your size, but I want you to know, when I get you under me, I promise to be gentle and not squash you.”

She burst out laughing. “That’s good to know, but isn’t it if you get me under you, not when?”

“No, it’s definitely when. We’ll go at your pace, but you better get it into your head and come to terms with the fact you’re mine.”

She huffed out a laugh. “Pretty sure of yourself, aren’t you?”

“Not really. I’m very sure that we belong together. It says something when all we have to do is touch, and we’re instantly out of control.”

She reached up and touched his cheek. “Yes, I know. So far, we are pretty compatible.”

He smirked. “Oh, I think we’re more than compatible.”

She pulled away. “I better get back.”

“I’ll walk you out.”

“You don’t have to do that.”
