“My cleaner.”

“So why did you tell me she was your girlfriend?” she fumes.

“I never once said that, stop putting fucking words into my mouth.”

The look she gives me could kill an army, and once again I have to concentrate on keeping a straight face.

She stomps up the hallway before disappearing into her bedroom and slamming the door.

“Always so dramatic,” I murmur into my coffee.

I shower, dress and have another cup of coffee and still Anna hasn’t come out.

What the fuck is taking her so long?

I make her another cup of coffee and put some toast in…and still she hasn’t come out.

I don’t have time for her fucking tantrums this morning, I march up the hall and knock on her door. “Coffee is ready,” I call. “I made you some toast.”

“No thank you,” she calls through the door. “I’m going out for breakfast.”

“What?” I knock again. “Since when?”

“Since I have the morning off.”

Fuck’s sake. “Since when do you have the morning off?”

The door jerks open and she comes into view, wearing a black summer dress with spaghetti straps and her hair tied up, she looks like a walking fuck doll. My eyes sweep down her body and land back up at her face. “You’re wearing that?”

“Yes. I’m wearing this,” she huffs as she brushes past me. “What’s wrong with this dress?”

“Nothing.” I widen my eyes as I search for a logical reason she should not wear that in public. “It’s just very…. Cold outside today.”

She looks at me deadpan as she brushes past me to walk out into the kitchen. “Not as cold as it is in here,” she mutters under her breath.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I roll my eyes; I do not have the patience for her bullshit, I’ve had no sleep whatsoever.

“Nothing.” She collects her coffee and marches back up the hall. “I’m packing my things like you told me to,” she calls. “So you’ll just have to wait.”

Bang…her bedroom door slams.

I wait and wait…and wait, I glance at the time and wait another half an hour.

Fuck’s sake, woman. “Anna, I have to go.”

“Go then,” she calls from her bedroom.

I walk in to find her zipping up two giant suitcases on her bed.

Is she moving in?

“Don’t rush me,” she snaps. “Can you carry these downstairs?”

“When you’re ready we will go down together.”

“What’s the security breach?”

I don’t want to scare her.
