My screen lights up as the text arrives.

“Got it.”

“Listen to it and call me back.”

“Okay.” I hang up, put my headphones in and press play.

“Sartori,” a man’s voice say.

“Hello”

“I have some new intel.”

“Such as?”

“Carlo Bernetti is in back in town.”

I frown as I listen.

“How do you know?” Sartori replies.

“Trust me, I know. I’ve seen him with my own eyes.”

“What’s he doing back here”

“Friday night, he’s moving in on Valentino Leone”

“With what intention?”

“He’s going to kill him.”

“Are you certain?”

“Positive. We’ve already lined up the getaway jet and passports.”

I listen, intently….

“Why Friday night?”

His girlfriend is leaving town.”

“Carlo’s girlfriend?” Sartori replies. “I’m confused. Which girlfriend?”

“Anna Russo.”

“She’s not his girlfriend, she’s living with Leone.”

“That’s where you’re wrong.”

“She’s still with Carlo, never left him.”

“Keeping him busy. Reporting everything back.”
