“It’s your turn to listen. And listen closely, because this should be easy for you.”
I force myself to hold his gaze. He straightens and goddess damn him, why does he have to be so brutally handsome?
Ugh.
“We had sex.”
His eyes flare, one eyebrow raises.
“We had great sex,” I amend because I'm angry, not a liar. “Fantastic sex, actually. Congratulations.”
His tail twitches. Under different circumstances, that might amuse me.
Not today.
“Five times, Sweet.”
“The number of times is irrelevant. You offered sex. I accepted. Gladly. We're both adults.”
“That's not all that happened.”
My chest tightens.
“Yes, it is.”
“No, Sweet. It fucking isn't.”
There is something in his voice.
Certainty.
Possession.

Just no. Not today.
I can’t deal with another person deciding what belongs to them. Especially when the thing they're discussing is me.
“Now you need to go.”
His eyes narrow.
“No.”
I laugh again.
“See? That's exactly what I'm talking about.”
“What?”
“You don't get to tell me no!”
My magic flashes. Damian actually steps back.
Good.
“I have spent my entire life being told what I should give up. Who deserves what belongs to me. Where I fit. What I'm allowed to want. And I am fucking done.”
