Pressure cuts through everything else, and my rhythm breaks.
I bite his shoulder. “Keep going.”
His thumb starts moving again, his other arm closes around my back as my body starts to lose rhythm, keeping me upright while I use him.
The orgasm hits hard; my hands clutch his shoulders as my body tightens around him.
Cade’s face buries against my neck. His breath burns across my skin.
He follows seconds later, both hands locked around me as though letting go would hurt.
We stay tangled for a few breaths until Owen swears from the projection booth.
The rest of the night comes crashing back.
Mark is still trapped below us. Evan is hurt somewhere across the park. Rook is loose, and thousands of strangers are still watching whatever version of us he chooses to show them.
I climb off Cade.
His hands fall away without trying to pull me back because the moment is ending.
We dress quickly. His dressing has bled through at one edge again. I press fresh tape over it while Cade fastens his jeans.
“Still worst near the back?”
“Yeah. Unfortunately.”
“I remember.”
His eyes drop to my wrists. The marks are already fading.
Cade reaches toward one and stops short.
I take his fingers and put them against the inside of my wrist.
He brushes his thumb across the faint line. “I left that.”
“The belt left it.”
“I buckled the belt.”
“And then you opened it.”
His thumb pauses.
“I heard the man you left come out of my mouth.”
“You sounded needy.”
“That’s generous.”
“You are extremely needy.”
A reluctant smile pulls at one corner of his mouth. “I liked violent better.”
“I’m sure you did.”
The smile disappears, but his fingers remain around my wrist.
