“Yep. Best sister award.”
“How about the East Coast? You want a fresh start, and I want to be near my brother. We can get a fresh start together, away from here and all the bullshit.”
“I’ll think about it,” she says, and I believe she will, but I also believe she’s so lost she doesn’t know which way is up.
“You know, if you go to the West Coast, I’m following you there too, right?”
A smile peaks at her lips, “I hope so.”
Leaning over, I give her a lingering kiss. “We have some time to decide but there is something else I need to discuss with you.”
“This doesn’t sound like a fun topic.”
“It’s not. Maybe we should go talk about it in the gym, spar a bit while you teach me a few things.” I smirk, my hand rubbing down her back.
“You want to spar because it always ends with us fucking.”
“No complaints here.”
“None here either.” She rolls her eyes, focusing back to the pool. “What did you want to talk about?”
“We’ll get to that. There’s something else we need to do first.” I stand, offering her a hand up.
She grabs it and stands. “And what is that?”
I pick her up, cradle her in my arms and give her smiling lips a quick kiss, because they’re gonna be cussing me out in a few seconds. “Jump. Together.”
She starts squirming. “Don’t you dare.”
Before the final word is out, we’re airborne as I jump into the pool with her.
We kick to the surface and sure enough, she’s cussing at me. “I was gonna get my suit, jackass.”
“You don’t need it.” I lift her T-shirt, pulling it off and tossing it to the side, then do the same with my own. “You don’t need anything but me.”
She snakes her arms around my shoulders, and wrapping her legs around my hips, she says, “There’s one thing I need.”
“What’s that?” I ask, stroking my tongue over her lips.
“A new damn phone because it was in my pocket.”
“I’ll replace it. I’ll fix everything,” I say, but it’s not the phone I’m talking about.
And something tells me she’s not talking about the phone either when she says, “I know you will.”
Epilogue
Kinsley
Graduation Day
“Are y’all sure this is what you want to do?” Memphis asks, looking between me and Gage.
“Yep. Invitation is still open if you want to join us.” I give him my best smile, but I know he’s already decided to stay in Radon.
“Nope. But I’ll visit soon if my employers will give me some time off.”
“I’m sure they will.” I give him a hug, wrapping my arms around him. “Because they’re gonna miss you.”
