She does as I command, managing to hit the pad harder, and I nod to encourage her to continue, as I begin to speak.

“Elenor has lived in a trailer two down from my mom's for as long as I can remember, Alexiana’s in the middle. She always had a thing for me, always trying to get my attention. She pretty much became my regular girl since we were fourteen,” I begin, and Blair hits my hand a little harder, and I have to contain my smirk just in case she decides to hit my face, or worse, my nuts.

I continue, “She was easy, but she also wasn’t the only girl I was fucking just like I wasn’t her only guy,” she takes a step back and puts her hands on her hips as she breathes heavily. We lock eyes as I admit, “She turned into a hooker,” Blair's eyes widen, “She fucks for money, has clients. I don’t love her, Blair, I never did. I cared for her because we grew up together, we had the same home life nearly. But when I walked into her trailer and I found her stepdad who came to collect her mom’s shit, leaving her and her older sister to fend for themselves, ‘raping her’ I lost it and defended her, I thought she needed me.”

“You felt obligated to her?” she confirms, and I nod.

“I did,” I admit before I sigh, “I knew I’d never love her, fuck, for years I’ve been trying to find a clinic that would perform a vasectomy because I didn’t want to procreate. Between my mom's and my dad’s genes, I’m pretty much fucked and El said she didn’t want kids. She knew I’d never love her. I thought, stupidly, getting the idea from Alex, who in her defense, had no idea what was going on in my head, that if I claim Elenor, then I get the best of both worlds,” I wince, “Pussy on tap,” she scrunches her nose up, “and my family off my back about settling down.”

“You didn’t want to fall in love and hurt them,” she summarizes, and I nod before I lift the pads and state, “Again, baby, I need you to be able to defend yourself.”

She gives me a blinding smile before getting into the stance I taught her and hits the pads, left and right, getting quicker as she goes.

“So, I’m confused. When did you decide to stop claiming her?” she asks in between hits, breathing heavy.

“The day I gave in and offered to claim her, I fucking regretted it,” I admit, “She instantly began to become clingy. Jealousy was already getting involved with our sessions to the point I’d allow her sister to join as punishment…”

She steps back and glares at me, and I clear my throat to hide my smile because fuck, El’s jealousy pissed me off, Blair’s jealousy, sweet as fuck.

“Sorry,” I mutter, trying to hide my humor, but she narrows her eyes, seeing it before she swings a punch, and I quickly get the pad up, chuckling.

My fucking girl.

“Anyway,” I chuckle as she gets back into a rhythm, “I regretted it, but in my head, with how my mind has been since finding out Killer was my father, it seemed like the right thing to do. Part of me felt like I needed to save her, because I couldn’t save my mom, but then she began calling, kept claiming to be pregnant when I’d double gloved, and I knew I couldn’t go through with it.”

She takes another step back and breathes, “But she mentioned you claiming her in the ER that day?”

I nod, “As soon as I met you that morning I fucking panicked,” I walk up close to her as I drop the pads and cup her cheeks, my eyes racing between hers, “I knew instantly that you were mine and it fucking scared me because I don’t want to hurt you and I knew you would consume me. I’ve seen it happen with my own blood brother, so I went into denial and continued with claiming El.”

She looks at me with confusion, and I drop my sweaty forehead against hers, and I choke, “I haven’t fucked anyone else since I walked into that conference room and met you. Shortcake, I pulled back from El despite being adamant in claiming her…but I just, fuck, you wreck me. and the reason why I left after you gave me something so goddamn special was because I knew I wanted you. I knew I was going to claim you and in order to do that I needed to come to terms with it because you represent everything I fought against but suddenly desperately fucking need.”

Her eyes tear up, and she grips my arms but frowns at the new ink and leans back a second, only to gasp at her name. I whisper, “As I said, I’m claiming you. I just needed time to wrap my head around it.”

“But Elenor?” she whispers, and I murmur, “Has already promised the Chargers she’ll get information on the club once I hand her my property patch, proving she was using me and my hero complex I seemed to have to save her, against me, knowing I’d never love her.”

Her eyes widen, and I hum as I run my fingers through her hair, looking over her features.

“It won’t be easy,” I admit, “My mind, it’s fucked up, but I know you feel this between us. I know you are fully aware that you’re mine and I’m telling you I’m yours. I just need you to give me the strength to keep going, to help me see that I won’t hurt you and I’ll help you see that I won’t leave you.”

Her eyes tear up, and I press my lips against hers, feeling so fucking content having her in my arms. I groan when my phone rings, and she smiles against my lips and whispers, “It could be the club,” and I huff before muttering, “I swear you are too fucking perfect,” as I grab my phone from on top of the box but I frown at the caller.

“Halsy?” I answer.

“Hey Blaze, sorry to bother you, but my sister is claiming to have overdosed and cried for me to call you. Honestly, her whining was driving me crazy, so I caved,” she replies, and I raise a brow at how unpanicked she is right now. She continues, “Now, I think she’s bullshitting, but…”

I sigh, “Alright, I’m on my way.”

“Did you not hear where I mentioned I think it’s bullshit? Blaze, this is me telling you to cut the freaking cord with her! Find someone you will actually love, she doesn’t need saving!”

“I said I’ll see you soon,” I grunt before hanging up, an idea hitting me, one that I don’t seem to understand, will likely bite me in the ass.

“Got to go?” Blair asks, and I look her way, and fuck, my heart pounds with how beautiful she is.

“El has apparently overdosed,” I admit, and Blair nods before she checks her watch.

“I’m not working at the hospital until tomorrow, so just pop in, I guess, when you’re done,” she says, and I smirk.

“Shortcake, you’re coming with me,” I say, and her eyes widen.
