Is this my punishment for sleeping with a taken man—giving him my virginity?
Oh, shit no…
“You are not pregnant, I’ve done the scan, OB has done a scan, there is no baby, there never was. You have a sexually transmitted disease that, if untreated, could cause bacteria to spread through your body and cause irreversible damage like severe scar tissue or pelvic inflammatory disease. Which will lead to chronic pelvic pain or even an ectopic pregnancy, so we can either discuss the medication you will require to take for seven days out here or in the room, your choice!”
Her face goes pale, and she spins on her high heels, disappearing into a room, and I scan the ER and spot Clark glaring at Belle, who is talking rapidly, and I don’t think, I rush over to them and just catch Clark’s words.
“He’s my brother, and he comes before you. You told him you were going to end things, all because he wasn’t in the mood to meet up with you. You’re becoming controlling, and I don’t like it!” Clark snaps and I wince at her anger towards her closest friend.
Belle opens her mouth to protest, but I quickly close the distance, cut her off and gasp, “Clark, consult in room four.”
Belle scowls at me as Clark nods, and ignoring Belle, I grab Clark, pulling her away, and without a second thought, I usher her into the cubicle and shut us in.
“Uh, Blair, no one is here, or were you helping me with my so-called friend, whom I don’t recognize anymore?” Clark says as she turns towards me looking confused, and I swallow hard.
“Okay, first, Belle is acting as she always does. She just acted differently with you. If she isn’t careful, she’ll push your brother away with whatever is causing her to lash out lately. Two, I had sex with Blaze unprotected like an idiot. His girlfriend has just been diagnosed with Chlamydia, the same disease I diagnosed a sixty-year-old with twenty minutes ago,” I choke, and she blinks before shock sets in, her mouth parting slightly.
“You and Blaze had sex?!” she asks loudly, and I quickly cover her mouth and choke, “Chlamydia Clark, chlamydia and his girlfriend is four rooms down.”
Clark mumbles, “Oh shit,” before getting out of my hold and grabs a urine sample cup, and tells me, “Pee in that, in here.” My eyes widen because we are most certainly not that close, but she reminds me, “Girlfriend’s in room eight.”
Crap.
I take the cup and move around the bed while Clark turns her back to give me privacy.
This has to be one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. I glare at the cup accusingly, my cheeks burning, and yes, I am blaming Blaze for this.

“Okay, your test is negative,” Clark states ten minutes later, and I slowly close my eyes. “It won’t pick up pregnancy this early on, though, but you know that.”
“I had the morning after pill,” I mumble, “it just doesn’t stop STDs…”
“I can’t believe you slept with Blaze,” she whispers, and I look at her, my eyes watering.
“For three weeks, he had been following me, like a stalker, always watching me, and it started the first day we met, after I was hit by that criminal,” I choke, “We had this undeniable connection, but he’s taken, Clark, he claimed another girl. What did I do?”
A few tears fall, and she quickly takes me in her arms as a small sob leaves me.
“What did he say the next morning?” she asks as she pulls back, and I shake my head.
“He was gone. One moment I’m telling him to go back to his girlfriend after finally confronting him outside my home, and the next he’s kissing me and spending all night with me. But I woke up with his shirt on me that I never put on, and him gone, and that was a week ago, and I’ve had no word since…” I admit, and Clark's eyes widen.
“Are you sure he claimed her?” she asks seriously, and I frown.
“That day I got hit, she asked him when he was going to announce to the club that he claimed her, she was hanging off his arm,” I say, and she frowns.
“Was she wearing a leather cut? One that stated property of on it?” she asks.
I shake my head just as the curtain to the room opens, and Trick frowns as he looks between us.
“Why are my nurses in here?” he asks, and Clark retorts, “Not a nurse yet,” as she gently rubs her baby bump, and the man melts at his woman, who grins back at him, making my heart melt.
“Stop deflecting by being cute,” Trick says, seeing right through her and I choke out, “I slept with Blaze, and you just diagnosed his girlfriend, the woman he claimed, with chlamydia.”
Trick steps inside and shuts the curtain, his easy-going nature gone and hardness in place.
“He hasn’t claimed her,” Trick states. I open my mouth, but he continues, “He hasn’t, I promise you this now. He won’t allow her in the club. He hasn’t claimed her yet, not in the eyes of the brotherhood. Now I’m understanding why.” He looks at his wife. “Has she been tested?”
