“Kai,” Kaleb says, firmer this time. “We need to make a decision. Try to take however many dozens of men are on their way here, or we need to leave, right the fuck now.”
Pulling back, my lip curls in anger at my brother. But he’s right.
“Not risking it with her. We leave. Right the fuck now,” I mutter, reaching down for my cut.
Fuck the shirt and the gloves. I’m not hiding. Not from her.
My hand is in hers as we make our way to the bikes. Securing the helmet on her beautiful skull, I turn off the speaker that is linked to Kaleb’s helmet so we can talk during the rides, not that we do much of that.
We are off in seconds, tearing out of the dock and toward the club. The way her arms wrap around me punches the wind out of my lungs. Like I can barely breathe. And when her fingers slip through my vest, and skate over the jagged skin, a shaky breath slips past my lips.
This is dangerous. So fucking dangerous. For her. For me.
I wish she’d run screaming after seeing me. It’d make this easier. Now, I don’t think I’ll be able to walk away.
We pull up to the club and I’ve got her helmet off in seconds, picking her body up off the seat. She wraps her legs around my waist and her arms around my neck, nuzzling into me, and my arms instinctively wrap tightly around her.
Taking my first step towards the front door, Kaleb speaks behind me.
“I’ll go hand over the information to Ash,” he says through his stiff jaw.
With my hands gripping Roxy, I turn back to him.
“After,” I grunt.
His dark eyes dip to the girl, and I see anger there. I don’t fucking care. I need him with me when this happens. Just in case. I can’t kill her just when I’ve gotten her.
Torn, he looks back at me before nodding and striding past me to the front door. Ignoring everyone in this club is something I’m good at. The brotherhood of the Devils is great and all. But I have my brother. And I have Ash. I have Maddison, the sweet girl who went through something dark with me.
And now I have her.
Roxy.
So delicate and light in my hands.
So damn breakable.
Kaleb leads the way up the stairs to our apartment. To our home. Unlocking the door, he holds it open for us, eyes narrowed on her when she shifts in my arms.
I feel her head twist, taking in the space. There is not much to see. Everything is dark and basic. One couch that never gets used. One TV that was left from the previous occupant. Three rooms, two of which look identical and one that is empty.
A kitchen that hasn’t been used.
I take her to my room, lowering her to the ground once I step foot inside. Her hands glide into my hair, which still stinks like blood, and stands on her tiptoes to kiss me. My entire body freezes at the contact, muscles going taut.
My hands curl into fists at my sides, trembling.
Fuck. I can’t do this.
Ripping myself from her grip, my back slams against the wall. My mouth parts as I suck in my next breath, seeing her brows line and her eyes soften with concern.
Weak. I’m so fucking weak.
My hands ache to wrap around her throat, ears dying to hear her gasp and cough for air. I can almost feel the way her pussy would clench on my cock as I did it. Ecstasy.
“I want this, Kai,” she murmurs, taking a step closer.
Nervously, she looks over her shoulder at Kaleb, who watches from the corner of the room. She hasn’t questioned his being here. But I know he scares her.
